HP Compaq Presario V2000 "Doesn't turn ON"

Hi!

Your Compaq V2000 has an Intel Pro Wireless 2200 BG wireles adapter. (doesn't support N, but that's not the point I think)

If your new network configuration is based on WPA/WPA2 encyption, this adapter has some known problems to establish a connection. It works great with WEP, but not so well with WPA.
Sometimes the issue can be solved by installing the latest versions of drivers and software for the wireless adapter.
If it still doesn't work, a known workaround is to disable via device manager all other network adapters in the computer (ethernet adapter), leaving active only the Intel Pro 2200 wireless adapter.

Click the correct link of your computer, in the next page select dyour operating system that is windows vista, if there is no vista there then the driver for vista is not released by hp,if i am right there are drivers for 2nd and 3rd but not the first.

After selecting the operating system click next and select the link to driver-audio and click download

you may, and i say MAY have accidentally dislodged the battery, remove it competely and reseat it.

unplug the power unet and reinsert all its cables to make sure nothing it loose.

try starting the laptop with battery removed but mains power plugged in.. (if this works : you got a faulty battery...aftermarket HP part suppliers or HP on the net..

anything else is serious and then i pray you got a warranty or insurance....

If you could give much more detail on your model.See below your laptop you should have like 2102tu or something like this..

did you formatted the hard disk? this depends on your OS. what are you using? it is important that the driver you downloaded and installed is for the OS you are using.
