Maintenance tab in preferences not working

1. Remove the printer 2. Remove the printer driver and any additional driver installed for the printer. 3. Restart your PC 4. Download the latest driver from vendor's website 5. Install driver 6. Go to printer properties and try using the cleaning tool under the maintenance tab.

XP :Click Start, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes Right Click on your printer and click Printing Preferences. Click Maintenance tab, click Ink Cartridge Replacement. Follow the instructions. --- Vista : Click Start, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers Right Click on your printer and click Printing Preferences. Click Maintenance tab, click Ink Cartridge Replacement. Follow the instructions. --- 7 : Click Start, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers Right Click on your printer and click Printing Preferences. Click Maintenance tab, click Ink Cartridge Replacement. Follow the instructions.

Go to your printer manfacture online, download the driver for your model and make sure you choose the right driver for your operating system, it should work fine, all the drivers are avilable online for all manfactures.

Download link is half way down the page. Select the OS your computer has to get the correct driver.

try to reset your ink counter.. open control panel->click printer and faxes->right click your printer and click on properties (open printer properties)->click maintenance tab and click ink counter reset and check the ink box you alredy replaced and reset then.
2. if still not work check your print pattern in maintenance tab too and print..
3. cleaning your printer in maintenance properties and print check pattern again...

Of course you do can download software from its manufacturer of website provider. But if you have the installation disc CD then use it. Re-setup your printer driver & software to use it again.
And to download also the driver on the website is read or type in the search engine of what MODEL PRINTER to find out some freeware driver in the web. Hope this might help you, Good luck!

Have you properly installed the Status Monitor as well as the driver? If not, download SC4344_STM_3aE_MP.exe from:
