Sony T240HD monitor TV

Brand new.  Plugged it into wall and hooked up red, white, and yellow cables.  Hooked up sony playstation II and everything is working except the fact that the picture is black and white.  No color.  Tried all possible combinations with the red, yellow, and white cables but still no color.  Remote menu is in color and I adjusted tint, picture, resolution, and everything else but still no color. I have this tv too. The problem you have is that the T240HD does not have a composite input. The input you are using is actually a component input. The only way to hook a ps2 up to your tv is to buy a component cable. You can find these at gaming stores. (Regular component cables will not work)

Hi, have had bedroom decorated and playstation had to be disconnected for few days,, now plugged back in and not playing a dvd or a game,,,any ideas?? the lights come on ok but no picture on screen,, tv...

double check all your cords and that they are hooked up tightly and correctly.

if that fails try hooking it up using the AUX (yellow, white, red) cord. It could have been reset which means if you were using a HDMI output it was set back to default AUX.

and finally try using a different HDMI cord, everything goes bad eventually

I just hooked up my Flat TV to my Panasonic VHS-DVD recorder player and the screen only shows blurry Black and White when displaying or recording, The TV itself is fine.

Sounds as if you hooked up your player wrong. If you are using a composite hook up. You should have a yellow, red and white cable. Make sure it gets hooked into the same on the TV. If it is a component connection, then RED, Green and Blue. It sounds like you have your Yellow composite going through your Green component. If by chance your TV is a new Sony, then you might have to go into the user menu and turn component off and composite on.

A humming or buzzing noise through the tv speakers when hooked up with AV or componet cables!

This is a common problem with rca a/v aka red white and yellow cables.Time to buy new ones or go hdmi. But don't worry it's not your system.

How do you hook up ps3 to tv

What you need to do is make sure that your cables are indeed in the correct spot. Also make sure that your TV is turned to the correct channel. If you are connecting via Red, White, Yellow cables then you need to make sure your TV is turned to the video input. Also an FYI if you have cable that can interfere with your PS3 so to be safe make sure that your cable box is turned off.

video processor may be bad....did you reset the ps3 by holding the power button down for 10 secs? do this while the power switch on the back is ON position. wait for 2 sbeeps and ensure the regular composite cables are hooked up. (the yellow red white cable)

No Picture, Only sound

You need to tell the PS3 that you are now using the new video method. It is still trying to output video on the yellow cable, not the component. If you go to settings>video and tell it to use component, and then switch the cables real quick, it should work.

An easier solution is to do a backup from the system menu, then a "restore" (quick restore is fine), and then power it off, hook up the new cable, and it will detect the video method when it turns on for the "first" time (since the restore).

You do have component input on your TV, and that is the input you are on when you are trying this, yes?

Trying to get ps2 to play on new tv..

USE a VCR between the PS2 and the Sylvania TV.  Hook the PS2 A/V cable RCA connectors( Red, Yellow, White) to one of the the Video input RCA connectors( Yellow, Red, White) on the VCR. Hook the VCR Cable output to your Sylvania Cable input. Set the Sylvania Tv to channel 3 or 4.  Set the VCR channel to Line 1 or Line 2.  This should work. I hope it helps you.
