Water damage olympus vg-120

Is this repairable/recoverable. Bought this camera less than a week ago. Managed to spill nail polish remover over the screen. Screen damaged - camera will still turn on and take pictures but visible damage on screen. Put in warm place in bowl of rice - any suggestions?

If the only your trying to fix is the screen there is a screen restoration kit you can buy for camera's almost the same thing you can for headlights on cars you will pay a little bit for it though but its def worth it and it should take about anything of your screen for you.

SOURCE: camera batteries drain quickly

Open the battery door and check the contact between the camera and the batteries. Most often then not there is just a bad contact and it's ruinning your baterry life.
Make sure that the contact are well placed and that there is no rust or dirt build up around there.

SOURCE: broken screen

Sounds like the LCD. Setting anything next to it, bumping it may crack the screen

SOURCE: How to disassemble case.

Pry the metal spring clip in the base of the hotshow toward the rear of the camera with a pocketknife, itll pop out and there will be 4 small screws under there, Ill put a buck on that bet. The hotshoe needs some good anchors to support some beefy flash units so it has screws to hold it down, metal hotshoe to metal chassis.

I have an Olympus VG-120. How do I physically update the firmware on my Olympus VG-120 camera? Thanks.

Do you have your user guide or owner's manual? Read that thoroughly and you will have no problems. If you don't, get one from the manufacturer - search their website and download.

Driver for olympus vg-120/d-705

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Vg-120 wont open

I know this is just southern inginuity but ours did the same after a trip to the beach. my husband took a knife and removed the outer rim, to loosen the sand out, then we had to tape the ring back on. still works. but if you don't won't to damage your camera, you might not want to do it that way.

Write protect

Look at your memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
