This began about 8 months ago, when I turn on the TV for the first 3-5 minutes I can only hear the audio and the screen is dark gray or black. After about 3-5 minutes, the picture begins to flash on and off until picture finally syncs up and we can then begin to watch TV normally. If I turn off the TV and then turn it back on a few seconds later it works as expected. However, if I let it set for any length of time and the unit cools, it will go through the warm up and flashing process until synced.
I had the same issue....thankfully, I had purchased an extended warranty from Best Buy...I had been in a panic, because I NEVER thought I would pay a grand for a tv, but I LOVE it...anyway.....I had the "Geek Squad" come to look at the tv....the tech took 30 secs....there is a problem with your Y-SUS (Y-sustain board)...it will need to be replaced...and...the tech called another tech, and he advised that the Z-SUS be replaced as well (apparently he had to go back to the same home after a Y-SUS replacement to change out a failed Z-SuS).....retail on Y-SUS is about $300...ebay has them for less than half that, if you think you can do it yourself...keep in mind that "Maxent" is a Zenith/LG product, so finding parts might be a challenge if you base it upon Maxent....hope this helps!!

Same problem here, though it seems to be getting worse...
It seems that as time goes, it takes longer and longer to load up, and even when it's good, it will flicker an inch or two of a bar across the bottom when the picture has a lot of white in it... then after a few hours of being on it seems to work great...
With what little info I have on electronics (building HAM radios, etc)... It seems to me that a capacitor is blown, and takes a while for it to get up to charge to keep the power clean... Most TVs have a safety for this (as it can damage the internals) but it seems that this one doesn't. If you or anyone else has found a solution (or know if a repair shop can fix) please post here. I don't want to pay a table fee for something that can't be fixed.
I have the same problem. I've scanning the web for solutions, but haven't an answer yet. When I do, I'll post it here.
