Dear,

You should use Nero 6 or above version. It is very easy to use.
Just create an image of original disc and then burn it on the blank disc. The copied disc will work fine, I am sure.
Please try it.....

SOURCE: How to make bootable disk with win xp.iso format?

to answer the first question an Iso file can be burned to disk using the iso
burning function that comes with most burning software. if this file is an operating system then it would automatically be burned as a boot disk and nothing else would be needed. However if this is say service pack 3 and its an iso format then even though your burning it using an iso function it would just be service pack 3 and nothing else a none boo table disk.

SP3 is the third and final service pack released for Microsoft Windows XP, and it eliminates many of the security holes that previously affected XP. While Microsoft recommends that users download SP3 using Windows Update, some users are unable to do so. However, it's easy to create a Windows XP SP3 installation CD; it requires only that you download the pack from the website and burn it to a CD-R/DVD-R using an ISO burner program.
Download the SP3 installation ISO by visiting the first link listed in the "Resources" section of this article. Save it to your Desktop. Download ImgBurn and save it to your Desktop. Double-click the installation executable for ImgBurn and click "Next." Follow the remaining onscreen prompts and click "Finish" to complete installation of ImgBurn. Insert a blank CD-R/DVD-R into your DVD drive. Open ImgBurn by going to "Start," "Programs" and "ImgBurn." Click "File," then "Browse for a source file." Navigate to your Desktop and select the SP3 ISO file. Click "Open." Click the blue "ISO to CD" button located on the bottom left of ImgBurn. The program will begin creating the Windows XP SP3 installation CD. This process may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to complete depending on the speed at which the CD-R/DVD-R is being burned. Click "OK" once the CD-R/DVD-R has finished burning. You've successfully created a Windows XP SP3 installation CD.

Windows 7 instaiiation disc

http://download.cnet.com/windows-7-usb-dvd/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

When you purchase Windows 7 from Microsoft Store, you have the option to download an ISO file or compressed files.

The Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool allows you to create a copy of your Windows 7 ISO file on a USB flash drive or a DVD.

To create a bootable DVD or USB flash drive, download the ISO file and then run the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool.

Once this is done, you can install Windows 7 directly from the USB flash drive or DVD.

Hope it helps

I have made a disk image, with file extension .wmf, but don't know how to open it and get all the disk data back ??

wrong file extension. if you made a image of the OS it should have been a .iso this is burnable and easy to open with winrar or a dvd burner program for image burning.
The ISO file type is primarily associated with 'ISO-9660 CD Disc Image'. A literal dump of the data on the CD, byte-for-byte. The data is stored in the ISO-9660 format. IsoBuster can interpret these files directly.

The .wmf file type is primarily associated with 'Windows Metafile' by Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft graphic format. Xara X is a good program to edit this file type if you don't have Microsoft tools. There are several versions of a Metafile; each having a different header structure.

I want to make my pendrive bootable to install window xp on my computer

download this file unetbootin-windows-471.exe, then you must have an ISO file of your windows xp, you can install ultraiso or any iso maker available on the web, insert your xp cd then make an iso image out of your xp cd... after having iso file for win xp, insert your pen drive (at least you have 1gig free space on your pen drive) then open unetbootin-windows-471.exe, under the disk image, locate your win xp iso file using the select disk image file button,. then just chose Usb Drive , and also on the drive chose the drive of the usb (check it on my computer and check the drive letter of your pen drive) then click ok... once successful transfer of image to the pen drive, restart pc then make your pen drive to be the 1st boot device

How to make bootdisk from .iso image

You need to use ISO burning software. Nero has built in features for that, winiso can do it as well, or even microsoft windows xp.

For just windows XP you can download a tool and burn directly. You do however need to have Windows XP SP 2! <--- Important
