I don't know what's wrong, but I set up my system correctly, and stick on some music. But I can't hear anything coming out of the speakers. If I plug in my headphones (to the jack on the right front speaker), the sound comes out of the headphones. So - Signal is being sent from computer. - Won't come out of speakers/sub. Please help me!
Hi, I had the same exact problem. The speakers wouldn't work but sound came out of the headphone jack.
To fix my problem, i opened up the subwoofer unit and checked the fuse on the circuit board which seemed fine. Then i had a look at the wiring on the other side of the circuit board and noticed one of the wiring had fried leaving a gap in the connection and exposing the copper wiring. So i just soldered the two bits of wire together. Works fine now!
I just had to be careful when i finished soldering that the exposed wire wouldn't touch any of the other connections. I insulated the wires with a glue gun to keep it all in place.
hope this helps.
Hae bud... this is a bit ov a late reply... buh yeai jst had the same problem wif ma toshiba satellite laptop... the sound wouldplay perfectly fine through headphones but then when unpluged i had no sound... buh erm its a easy fix... i went 2 the toshiba homepage and downloaded the latest bios driver... for my model.. and now it wrks fine... the other thing you could try iv the bios update dnt wrk is.... Try changing the audio settings to digital through the control panel in Windows. This worked for me.
It has to be your connections check them again paing more attention on the speaker connections and wither they link to the computer correctly. If it comes out one but doesn't the other then somethings wrong inside. Check this out use one only speaker for each connection at the back then isolate them indivdually in other words if one socket works then check to see if the other works keep the sound running when you test. if you isolate all sockets then conect the speakers up again only using a different pattern.

Speakers and subwoofer don't work. Sound comes from headphone jack on right speaker.
Everything is connected properly and have tried switching speakers around on the back of the subwoofer.
