The service light was on with an E06 on the display. I reset the power to the unit. It first shows an r13 then goes to E06. Any thoughts?

This reminds me of some of the High temp sensors ive replaced. I would start with checking the pumps flow to the heater. Make sure there are no abstructions and at least 35 GPM (gallons per minute) running to the heater. If your flow is too low, you will trip the high limit sensor after a short while.
This could also mean you need to clean out the heat exchanger. When an exchanger gets dirty, it blocks the flow of water, slowing it down and "super heating" itdue to the water being in contact with the exchanger for too long. This will also trip the high limit and call for service.
If both the above items check out, contact me @ [email protected] and I will guide you further.

Of course there is no question here, so let's parse that line.
My heater is dead: (okay, call a funeral home)
No lights: (get fresh lights, candles...whatever)
No nothing: (double negative, meaning something)
I need help: (psychiatric, grade school level writing?..)
1) Is there power to your heater? If so, there are lots of protective switches to prevent the motor/compressor from starting and self destructing due to loss of refrigerant because of a leak. The "no lights" worries me that there may be a logic board (if your model has one) that is fried. My suggestion is to fill in the pool with sand and send the repair money to me...
