Vtech IP5825 Cordless Phone Logo

Not Registered I found that my Vtech 5825 phone was dead one morning. I tried charging it but it wouldn't charge. I put new batteries in it and the screen had "Not Registered" on it. It wouldn't do anything and it still wouldn't charge. I tried taking the batteries out and unplugging the base from the electricity and phone line for a few minutes. No change. The second handset still works. Anyone know how to re-register this phone?

Finally got a response from Vtech support:

"There is no procedure on how to re-register the handsets on this model."

    Thanks for the help Vtech.

My Uniden phones were registering "low battery" on 2 of them. I ordered replacement batteries and installed them, but the red LED light is not coming on, neither is there a "charging" message on the screen. Wouldn't the LED light come on anyway while the phone is charging?

I had the same problem and this procedure fixes it! First, unplug the power to the main base (answering machine) for 20 seconds. Plus it back in. Put the phone that says "not registered" in the main answering machine. It will say "press the find handset for 4 seconds". Do that. It will run thru a series of stuff and will find the handset. It works! Rich (jambones.com)

How to activate a vtech phone

Instructions
    • 1Remove the battery cover from the back of the phone. Most models have a door that slides downward to reveal the battery compartment.
    • 2 Install the battery by inserting the connector on the battery wires over the pins in the handset battery compartment. The connector will only go on one way.
    • 3 Insert the battery pack into the compartment and replace the battery cover.
    • 4 Charge the phone by sitting it in the charger for a minimum of 16 hours on the first charge.
    • 5 Place the fully-charged phone onto the cradle of the base unit and wait for the display to show "PRESS FIND HNDST 4 SEC ON BASE." If the message does not come up, lift the phone off the base and put it back in the cradle.
    • 6 Press and hold the "FIND HANDSET" button on the base unit for approximately four seconds. The display on the phone will change to "PLEASE WAIT," then "HANDSET X REGISTERED."
    • 7 Test the phone by making a call.

Sounds like a battery problem. Seems your battery is completely dead. Get your cellular provider to order you a new battery. That should fix your problem.

Brand new 8320 after his first night charging its not working

when you put the phone on the charger does it show a red light on the top of the phone?
if so your battery is dead, when the battery is charged the light turn green.
you may just have a bad battery. I would take it to where you got it and get another one or a new battery. also your charger could be not working

Vtech 2656 cordless phone battery not charging

You need to replace the battery pack. Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City and a few other stores may carry this battery. Just call them first so you don't make a wasted trip.

Vtech phones loosing connection to base

You are pretty close to the solution. The problem is the charge detection in the handset. All handsets on a cordless phone detect the battery level with an hexadecimal value in the memory. Each hex value equal a volt value of the battery. EX: 3.5v = 9B
3.6v = 9C 3.7v =9D etc... The problem is the hex value in your defective handset are all mess up. So 9B is not 3.5v anymore. Then your handset could last 1hr after foul charge or doesn't alert you before the phone goes dead due to low BAtt.
