You should go under settings, and try to reset everything to default. Or, google sony ps3 phone number. They should be able to help you out without charging you... If not, youtube it, and google it.

Ps3 hdmi to dvi blank screen no sound

Sometimes the PS3 automatically outputs it's video and audio signals in composite form. Try going back to your original composite cables and setting your system to output in HDMI. Those options would be under "Display Settings". Hope this helps!

I hooked my ps3 to the hdmi connection in the back, neither the system or the tv recognize the connection, i get a blank screen.I know the hdmi cable is good because I tested it.Any suggestions?

It could be that the PS3 is outputting a higher resolution than your TV can handle. Here is an excerpt from the PS3 manual:
If the video output settings do not match those required for the TV in use, the screen may go blank when the resolution is changed. The screen should, however, automatically go back to its original resolution after a while. If the screen remains blank for more than 30 seconds, turn off the system. Then touch the power button on the system front for at least five seconds to turn the system on again. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

My playstation wont get past the set up screen, and im lost on how to return it back to the stock defaults... i read guides, but it still gets stuck on a black starry screen after i choose my language,...

Resetting\Restoring it to original settings. WARNING: This will most likely wipe-out all saved games, demos, & etc. Restoring your PS3 to original settings. This is how it's done: Turn off PS3, Unplug PS3, Wait a couple minutes and re-insert plug, Push & hold-down power button until you hear 4 beeps (1,1,2) then let off the power. It should show you a page with restoring options, or a prompt of YES or NO of wanting to enter the Restore Options Page. Choose the one that you would like to do.

Ps3

not really sure what happened, but if you put the component cables back in the tv, making sure the ps3 is in stand by, then as switching it on hold the power button for about 5 seconds, it runs the optimal screen settings page, and should auto select the best option for the cables fitted, if this does not work , then do all of that again but with original cables fitted and it should be back to original settings(how it came out the box) hope this helps

Vista Magnifier

Best way to fix it is using "Last Know Good Configuration" option in advance boot menu by pressing F8 during the boot. If "Last Known Good Configuration" doesn't resolve the issue, You may you use System Restore option to earlier date that can be prior to the issue.
Please post if you need further assistance.
