Speaker blown? How do I open it up to see? And how do I fix it?

Most probably output capacitor need replacement.

Probably vibration. Give the amp some time it probably will fail.

Sounds like the Subwoofer is blown. Unless you are handy with this stuff, you're outta luck unless you can find someone with the expertise to replace the blown speaker inside. This is not an easy job. If you are up for it you can follow the previously described method for opening it & removing the blown speaker. A suitable replacement can be found at http://www.rpelectronics.com/d03-0004-4-speaker-paper-cone-4-ohm.html Note that it will need to be mounted differently than the original which is mounted on the rear of the panel.

The replacement must be mounted on the front. It will need some sort of gasket (foam tape or something) between it & the panel. No soldering is required as push on connectors are used. Connect it up after installation and reassemble the unit.

Be aware that there is a possibility that the sub's amp is blown, in which case replacing the speaker is of no use. It would be good if you had some sort of speaker to connect to the terminals once you get the unit open and check that the amp is putting out before ordering a replacement speaker. Good luck!

Your ports are vibrating. You need to seal them and this should fix this problem. I would use some dynomat around the outside edges of the port to prevent air leakage and to stop the vibration. You may use a bit of silicone on the outside edge of the port too for further protection from vibration and leaks. Good luck.

Thanks for your interest...not yet solved...but friend who is hi-fi enthusiast says he knows what it is and will take it to where it will be fixed...know this sounds very vague...'me mere woman'....think he said something about some inner coil which needs replacing (or something like that) Sorry for explanation, I have no idea. As shown in the picture double check the vibration flexible wire connecting to the center, you cannot see it on your naked eyes, use tester to prove the connection, use soldering iron to reattached the broken circuit, be responsible for the connection, put in mind that it is vibrating too heavy...

Opened the phone, 4 screw. 2 at the base of the battery hatch, 2 under the speaker cover. Check the contacts between the speaker and the phone's motherboard. Adjusted the contacts and the phone now works

just gently push on the sub if it makes a noise like a grindin sound its blown.if it dont glue the center back on

Sounds like your speaker is blown . Is it a stereo? If so you can try switching the balance to the other speaker to see if its only in the one speaker. You can also switch it to mono to see if tat makes a difference. Let me know what you discover and I can help you further.
