To perform a cold reset
1 Turn the MFP off and then on.
2 When the memory count appears on the control-panel display, press and hold 6 until all three
LEDs flash once and then stay on. This might take up to 20 seconds.
3 Press 3 four times until COLD RESET appears on the control-panel display.
4 Press 6 one time. The MFP continues its initialization sequence.

Hi,
If your printer is connected in the Network and you are able to print fine than there is no communication Error.
In htan case if you are not able to scan then you need to upgrade the firmware of the printer and install it and i m sure your printer wiill scan scanning on the Network.

However before you start sending firmware to the printer you need to make sure that printer driver is installed on the PC.

Supply memory error is referring to a defective toner cartridge. Actually it's the electronics chip that is attached to the cartridge. The printer gets toner information by reading the chip. Replace the cartridge.
