How to turn on electric frigidaire oven; fgf337gud?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you want to know how to turn on the oven on your Frigidaire range, model# FGF337GUD. First, make sure you have set the clock. You will do this by pressing the "Clock Set" button and then press and hold down the up or down arrows, until the correct time shows. After you have set the clock, you are ready to turn your oven on.

To set the temperature for your oven, you will press the "Bake" button and three dashes will appear. Press the up and down arrows to change the temperature. Note: The temperature will begin at a default temperature of 350 degrees. Once you have released the up or down arrow, your oven will begin heating to the selected temperature. When your oven reaches the desired temperature, it will beep once.

To cancel the baking function, you will press the "Clear/Off" button.

If you wish to change the temperature after baking has begun, you will press the bake button again, and then change the temperature by pressing the up or down arrows to either increase or decrease the temperature.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Frigidaire es300 bake element

The bake element
is the heating element that is found at the bottom of the oven. Most electric ovens use both the bake element and the broil element in a bake cycle, with the bake element performing 90% of the heating. If the bake element isn't working, the oven may not heat. To help determine if the bake element is defective you should first do a visual check. If the element is blistered or separated then it should be replaced. If the element appears to look normal, then turn the oven on to a bake function for a minute and then turn it off.

Check the element for signs of heating and if it is still cold then it may be defective. Disconnect the power and then remove the back panel. First check the wires as they may have become loose or corroded. If the element appears to be fine visually, test it for continuity with a multi-meter. ( by placing the each of the meter prongs on each end of the heater element connectors) If the element is burned or no longer has continuity, it will need to be replaced.

The oven safety valve
(also called the gas valve) is the part that ensures that gas is not released until the igniter has reached the correct temperature needed to ignite the gas. While this part can fail, it is uncommon. If the hot surface igniter does not glow you should first verify that you have voltage to the circuit. This is a live voltage check and should be performed by a qualified person. If voltage is lost at the valve terminals then you should verify the continuity of the bi-metal in the valve using a multi-meter.

Oven stops working when it reaches requested temperature

Sounds like a temperature sensor and/or the control board are not communicating correctly. You could also have a faulty baking element that will not hold heat. Contact a professional.

My gas oven isn't heating up properly, is there

We were able to trouble-shoot our gas oven before calling the repair man. Our oven reached temperature but did not reheat when it cooled down. Our troubleshooting included taking out the storage drawer and looking at the underside of the oven near the valve.

First check if you can see the flame when the oven is on.

Use an oven thermometer in the oven to test if the oven gets to the desired temperature first. Does it get close to the desired temperature and stay near there for your entire bake time? If it does, you may need to adjust the thermostat setting. (This should be in your manual. Many Frigidaire manuals are available from their support site: http://www.frigidaire.com/Customer-Support/Videos--Manuals/ . )

Since our oven was reaching the set temperature and then not reheating, we had one person crawl under the oven and tap on the regulator when the oven needed to reheat. (We could see the ignitor spark.)

If the oven isn't heating at all, then the thermostat, the gas valve, controller or ignitor are suspects. Can you see the spark of the ignitor? Then it's probably not the issue. Similarly if you see the flame coming on several times during the bake cycle, it's not likely to be the valve. If you have a multimeter, you may be able to check the thermostat and controller for any breaks in the wire.

In our case, since the valve was failing, we ended up replacing the 10-year old range. (We looked at the price of a new range versus part and labor cost for the replacement. The part and labor was more than 50% of a new range.)

I hope this helps.

Stove Top on Oven works fine. The Oven has stopped working. You can press bake and it will work and adjust temperature and it will light up that it is pre heating but no heat inside oven

there is more than likely a problem with the control board.but you can check the continuity of the bake element.this may also be bad
