The non functioning of the camera as it shuts down after being switched can be a fault in the shutter, zoom or auto focus sections and may be due to the failure of the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must the camera be opened. If so check the voltage on the motor drive, check the auto focus and Zoom drives, it must be free with manual movement. If jammed the motor can be removed and released. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.

I just got a sanyo model vpc-603 and it wont turn on even with new batteries

Are the batteries charged and inserted correctly ? It is always best to use the highest power re-chargeable batteries you can get, rather than the cheap ones from low-priced retail outlets.

Why wont my sanyo vc-e760 hold a charge

Since you've already tried different batteries, you have a couple of other options...
  • Instead of plugging the USB cable into the camera's wall charger, plug it into the USB port of a computer, or even into a USB phone charger.
  • Try another wall charger.
  • Try another USB cable.
Here's the PDF manual for your camera, if you need it: http://us.sanyo.com/dynamic/extranet/servicers/VPCT1495.pdf
(Page 16 contains info about charging the camera)

I bought a sanyo e15005tp and i charged it once and then used up the battery once i saw the battery was almost dead i tried charging it but the camera turned off with the lense still out now it wont...

Well, for starters, the camera can be defected, because you said that when you charged the battery, it said it was on low, correct? So you should probably send it to the manufacturer, Sanyo, and they might give you a new Sanyo camera, since you got it defected. BUT first, you should call, and ask for more reference. Secondly, just see cheap deals on eBay, & Amazon, so buy a new battery. If you find that you DID charge it, than the Camera itself is defected. But their is also a chance that your area you charged it in IS either too hot or too cold, causing the battery pack to take longer, and lose the battery itself. Hope this info. helps!

Wont stay on

I could not find the vpce890 digital camera referenced on sanyo.com.

But, I did find that the battery should be charged by placing in the charger until the light turns green.

Are they Li-ion batteries or other type?

VPC-T700 Wont Turn on

hiak, I had the same problem with my camera. Try opening the battery cover and pressing down onthe battery while turning on the camera. If the camera turns on you have a poor conection between the battery and the camera.I folded a small piece of paper and put on top of the battery then closed the cover. Its worked like new since.
