The plastic handles on the body (NOT THE LID) cracked and need to be replaced. I communicated with Rival and they do not offer "SIDE HANDLE" replacements. The problem is that the body of the cooker is sealed and the head of the screw that holds the handle is in the sealed area of the cooker. There are three possible approaches to solve this problem. The first would be to remove the screw? on the bottom of the cooker, take the outer body off and remove the screw, put the outer body back on, and put a new handle configuration on the cooker. The second would be to attack the body of the screw with vice grips and pull the screw head and all out of the cooker, and the try a new handle configuration. The third and most logical would be to THROW the #3355 in the trash and buy a Cuisinart.
I am open to more suggestions on this matter.

For what it's worth, when the handle on my mother-in-law's crockpot broke, I went to Home Depot and bought a cheap wooden drawer knob (about $1 as I recall). I put a plastic washer between the knob and the glass and another under the screw head from the bottom (to prevent cracking the lid), tightened the screw and good as new.
If you still have your base for the Rival 3355 Crockpot and aren't using it. I would LOVE to buy the handles from you. Mine are cracked but the other parts work fine. [email protected]
Are you still looking for a lid? I have a crockpot (Rival 5 quart, round, white with Ivy, model 3355). The handles for this crockpot cracked and fell off. I still have the glass lid and green crock insert, which are in excellent shape. Let me know if you are interested. Regards from Michigan ~ Kathy C.
