It often works to warm the seal with a hairdryer and reshape it

Have a upright freezer and the meat on the top shelf is thawed out but the rest of the food on the lower shelves are frozen. Is it a vent problem

Either the door seal is bad or the freezer has a refrigerant leak or a bad compressor. Best to have an appliance tech check it. It won't take him long to locate the issue.

What is the orange light for at the top of my freezer

Your freezer seals on door are bad causing it to ice up and the light is telling you to defrost, these models have a design flaw that causes this, seals around door have to be replaced to fix.Call your local appliance company and see if they can order you some new seals.

Things don't freeze on the top shelf right hand side of the door. Also have small amount of water that drips after freezer is opened. This is a manual defrost freezer 20 cu foot freezer

I would suspect the door seal is not making contact or has some defect in it. And that defect is probably in the top right corner of the door. If you have a thermomiter, wait until the compressor kicks in and then slowly run it around the door seal. There should be some area that is colder than the rest. If I am right, then you will need to replace the seal.

I have ice buildup in the lower right hand side of the freezer in the back behind the baskets

Haier are a bad brand, the unit has cooling fin frost up and will not allow air to pass through the cooling plates, defrost the unit for 2 days with door open and restart, if all good after that, keep doing it, if not, its lost gas and needs the bin. Quality items deliver lengthy trouble free operation, sorry but I put Haier in the Daewoo class, Kelvinator or Westinghouse next time, its worth that little extra. Regards Russ

I have this freezer and it is forming ice on and around the door and won't stop running. I've checked to make sure the door is closed and sealed and it is. What can be the problem?

Does your freezer seem to be reaching around zero degrees. Second does your freezer have its condensing coil under it or on the back and is it clean. If the coils are not clean it can not disapate its heat effectively and will continue to run. If the coils are clean and the door seal is in good shape doesnt have to be perfect your unit may be low on freon. When a unit first gets low it will run all the time and actually get colder for a while then it will start loosing its ability to cool at all. The ice around the door can be caused because of air leaking in or just excess moisture in the cabinet due to a lot of new items added. I hope this helps

Upright freezer door inside developing ice

The door seal is at fault. Regardless of the small tear it is not sealing well.
Take a dollar bill and close it in the door. Then pull on the bill to feel resistance.
You will find it pulls easily in some place. That is where your air leak is that is causing the condensation.
Do this about every 6 inches all the way around the seal.
