Clean all the broiler burner ring holes with toothpicks then clean the burner ring with dishwashing soap and, rinse with clear water. wait until dry then: try the broiler again; sometimes the holes the gas comes out of gets plugged with grease and the burner ring/rod makes a whoshing sound when the excess gas pressure builds up and the gas escapes the burner ring all at once then the cycle begins again

GE wall oven gas model # JGRS14 won't heat past 100 and I don't see any flames

if you can see the ignitor glowing on either the broiler or the lower area of the oven then the gas valve is bad and not opening anymore, sometimes the ignitors are the culprit as they are in series with the gas valve and if weak wont let the valve open, but both upper and lower burners not operating i would suspect a gas valve first

Kenmore Gas Range. Top burners work fine. Oven is slow to preheat. Igniter has a yellow glow and the burner lights within about 20-30 seconds later. However, the burner has a very small flame and it takes...

the ignitor should glow bright orange.it sounds like you have a weak ignitor but if the flame lites within 20 to 30 seconds it sounds like it's ok,it could be braking down though when it gets hot,it doesn't matter if it glows,it has to be putting out 3.2 amps,if you have an amp meter with a clamp on it you can read out the amps,if the broiler works ok i would change out the ignitor, then follow the tube down to the bottom and stick a paper clip in the orifice hole where the gas comes out and make sure that's clear, also there's a shutter on the tube to adjust the air flow, see if it's closed,it's usually almost wide open, check the tube to make sure the ignitor didn't burn a hole through it.i've found tubes with holes in them from a lazy ignitor, most of the time if there's a problem it will be the ignitor

I have a 6 yr old Tappan stove, model TGF657BFW5. the burners work fine, but the oven and/or broiler take 5 to 10 minutes to light. when the oven and/or broiler do light, the flame is only about 1/8 to 1/4...

that ignitor should lite the flame within 40 to 60 seconds if not the ignitor is bad.even though it glows red it doesn't mean it's good it works with amps change the ignitor

Broiler works, oven settings - no flame, no heat.

Hi, it sounds like the oven ignitor might be bad. Remove the floor panel inside the oven and you will see the ignitor attached to the burner assembly. Turn the oven on and see if it glows. You can test the connection for the ignitor and see if it gets 120V to it. The most common problem with the gas oven is the ignitor. Most of the time, the ignitor glows but is not strong enough to open the gas valve.
Please let me know if this was helpfull or if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Broiler doesn't lite, no gas going to pilot

Most cases Broiler ignitor is out, after you turn on the Broiler, check the voltage on Broiler ignitor 2 wires, if you have approx. 110v, then change the ignitor, but you don't have 110v, then check Broiler safety valve and oven thermostat, but 90% of the time is the Broiler ignitor. Have fun.

Viking pro. gas range/oven leaks when all knobs turned off

check both oven ignitor and broiler by turning the oven first, and time the time that the ignitor takes before the flame lights up, it should not take more then 60 to 70 seconds, and do the same to the broiler.the one that takes the longer passing that mark of the 70 seconds needs replacing it 's not getting hot enough to light the burner on time that's the one that passes gas with out igniting. replace that one.
