I have wirless internet in my house and I would like to connect to it with my acer aspire 5315-2077 but it wont give me the option.
Network Key (WEP, WPA, WPA2 Encryption key)To connectyour computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh networklist, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connectto your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Keybefore allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This NetworkKey is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used toconfigure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way tosetup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

What qualifies you people to write responses? The switch for the 6930 is located just above the NumLock key. It actually looks like an LED indicator of a satellite dish, but it's not. It's the button for the WiFi enable/disable. Push it hard...
SOURCE: Will not connect to any Internet source
You would be well advised to contact (phone) your internet service provider support personnel and let them guide you through it. Without knowing the details of your ISP, I'm unlikely to be able to guide you to the correct solution. In many cases, if you have another internet connected computer to access their web site, you will find detailed information to help you with your particular setup.
I hope helps you to get reconnected...
SOURCE: i cant get into my internet settings !acer aspire
I know nothing about Linux and had the same problem. I found this on another site as I have been searching for an answer. Just finished as instructed and it has worked. Just in case I renamed the folder rather than deleting it!
"Follow this then restart and everything should come back to normal. It took me 3 minutes and worked fine.
This is to find and delete the networking folder (which is causing the problem):
1. From the regular Aspire One options page, go to the Files panel
2. Click on the triangle to see more icons
3. Click on MyFiles, which opens a file manager window.
4. In the menu bar, select View->Hidden files, to show a tick in the box. You should be in the "My Disk:///" directory.
5. Scroll down until you find folder "gconf" and then click on that
6. Find folder "system" and click on that
7. You should now see folder "networking" listed as one of the folders.
8. DELETE IT! (Right click on the networking folder, and select option delete.)
I just restarted from here and the icon re appeared in bottom right the menu bar, I just clicked on it to set it up with my wifi signal and it did the rest itself. "
Have fun and dont panic!
SOURCE: how do i turn the wireless capabilty on?
Look for a WiFi button to ensure it isn't off. If it isn't, then go to the Control Panel and go to Device Manager (Hardware Manager in Vista) and make sure the device disabled. Right click it and choose Enable. Should pick up your wireless.
