Hi. I have akmost had it with my Casio EX-Z50 camera! I guess I'll start from the begining! So I first purchased my camera on December 15, 2005. ( about a year ago) When I first got it, I loved it... then about a month or two later, the flsh stopped working. So about another month or two later, after trying to figure out what the problem was, I decided to just send it in to Casio! So I finally got it back, working properly, when 2 weeks later, the lens stopped working! Now I have to admit,it was part my fault! You see, I was walking with my friends outside and I dropped it like 2-3 times but after that the only problem was not that it wouldnt turn on,but the lens would extend slowly! So 2 weeks later, (which is now), I go to use it and the only thing that happens is I see a little flicker of a green light by the veiw finder and a little sound of the engine, trying to get the lens out probley, and then... nothing happens. Please help me with this because I'm about to throw it against the wall!
P.S. My 1 year warrenty just ended and from what I heard, without warrenty, Casio will at least charge me $140.00!
I don't believe a "lens error" can be fixed at home. That is something that is going to have to be sent in.
Sometimes if repairing the camera costs more than what it's worth Casio will offer you a trade up to a different model.
Call the repairs dept and ask them about that program. Their number is 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 1.

you've got a problem with your camera power management system. if you can open it try to follow where cables nor conductors from battery are going and check them physically.
