Bake and Broil not working

Hello I have a Kenmore Gas stove that came with my house but no manuals. The model number inside the bottom drawer of the stove says 911.7359180 Serial number OM203003Q.Yesterday I was going to bake and I touched the bake button and the display just flashed bake--- and never light or displayed a temp. I then tried the broil button with no luck. All my top burners are lighing fine. What could the issue be.
My Kenmore builtin range Model #911.3012992 stopped the day before Thanksgiving. Then it worked on Thanksgiving morning and and hasn't worked since

After you hit the function you want...bake or broil...click the up arrow.  That should give you the default temp of 350 and the unit should light.  Now adjust to the temp you want.

My gas oven doesn't work but the stove part does. The product is only 2 years old. When I put the Bake or broil button on the oven doesn't heat up. I am sure the pilot light is out but I don't know how to...

To answer the question fully, I'm gonna need the model number. Pull out the bottom drawer, and the model should be located on the side of the frame or on the drawer itself. Might even be behing the oven at the top, should be a metal plate that flips up.

I have kenmore gas oven ignitor glows but will not light

Hello there:
It doesn't bake dot_lineone.gif Bake igniter
When the bake igniter becomes weak or burns out, your oven would not bake. The bake igniter is usually mounted on the oven burner. It's about 1 inch by 4-8 inches (depending on the model), and comes in round or flat styles. If you don't see the igniter glow at all, it's probably burned out. Replace the igniter if found defective. Note: one of the exceptions could be that your oven is set to automatic mode instead of manual. If this is the case, set your oven to manual mode and check again.

If the bake igniter glows red and not bright yellow or white, it is probably because it is too weak. When this happens, the safety valve would not let the gas out into the oven burner. A weak igniter must be replaced.

A faulty igniter is probably the most common cause, however there are others:

-- defective thermostat
-- defective selector switch
-- defective gas safety valve

If you are certain the igniter is ok, it might be a good idea to call a professional appliance technician.

My stove will bake but will not broil. I figured it needs a new broiler element but can't find the part. would it be listed under another name and is it easy to install. I should also get a new glow bar...

first off you need the model number to get the right parts,if it's a stove with the burners on top open the bottom draw and get the model number off the frame, call your parts store and tell them if it's gas you need a broil ignitor if it's electric you need a broil element, and yes it's easy to do,make sure you unplug it or go to the fuse box to shut down the power first.if you sent the model number i could give you the part number and tell you what to do

Kenmore oven doesnt bake

Can I assume that you determined that the bottom burner flame is burning properly? To do this, remove the oven bottom insert. The flames should have approximately 1" of blue cone and should burn with no yellowing tip, if on natural gas. (A small yellow tip on the end of the outer cone is normal with most LP gas.) The flmaes should not lift off the burner ports. If the flame is lifting, gradually reduce the air shutter until the flame stabilizes.

Go to the following website for your particular manual.

I have a whirlpool gas stove, the bake or broil will not light.

Check to see if the electric ignitors are connected at the ignition module, located under the top surface panel. It is possible that the wire(s) that go to the oven ignitors has burned off or become disconnected from the main spark module,

It is also possible that the electrodes have failed and need to be replaced. These are the two (2) devices that produce the spark (and make the clicking sound) inside the oven compartment.

If those are OK, then check the thermostat, as it could be faulty and preventing the oven from functioning.

If you can smell gas when attempting to turn the oven (bake or broil) then the valves are good, if you don't smell any gas, the gas supply valves (one for each bake and broil tubes) need to be checked.

You might also try lighting the oven manually with a long match or grill lighter to rule out faulty gas supply valves or a faulty thermostat, which if you can manually light the oven, it would prove that the ignitors must have failed.

Here's the exploded line drawings for your stove along with the parts list, just click on each section to see the parts. You can order replacement parts from them as well.

I can't bake. The bottom burner in my stove is not working. The broiler works fine. Could the burner be bad?

yeah, it's definitely the burner. most people use bake more than broil and that's the reason why bake goes out first, almost all the time. you can check by getting a reading of 240v where the element connects to, assuming this is electric. If it's gas, then the ignitor needs to be changed and you should get 120v reading. Good luck.

Kenmore Gas Oven

Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;
rectangular styles: 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

Good luck!
