Desktop sound card

I have a logiteck surround sound system for my desktop, it has a woofer a tweeter in one large speaker box and one horizontal speaker and four vertical speakers all are black. I think it it the x540 system My sound card won't support the additional jack plug. It only has 2 plugs connection sites and so 2 of my speakers don't play any sounds. What is the best sound card to purchase to support this speaker system and whom do I order it from online?

I believe you have something connected wrg since your pc only requires one jack from sound card. to you subwoofer then its seperated to he others. read the book on *********** board to see if you can change your options on the sound configuration.

Very little output from tweeters Samson Resolv A6

same issue here, my 6 inch woofer is good but the tweeter is not producing sound, i opened the box myself, theres not signal going to my tweeter, how can i check to see if its a wiring or other issues to diagnose myself? heres some pics
tip

How to wire multiple speakers to one channel.

This mainly concerns surround sound systems, with a subwoofer. It is possible to wire multiple speakers to one channel, most useful for subwoofers. Even though bass is nondirectional, the user can still sort of place it. I create "surround bass" with one subwoofer channel. Enough intro.

I purchased two old Sansui LM-110 multi-driver(woofer and tweeter with a passive crossover) and placed them around the back wall till i liked the positioning. I then replaced my ht-z320 subwoofer with a Samsung PS-WX50(from the HT-X50 system). The X50 went in front, under the TV. The wiring to he speakers must be exactly as follows, lest the amplifier in the main unit repeatedly shut the unit down to protect(PROT then shutdown) from damage.

This is easier to do if you know how to solder(it also grants better sound), but can be achieved with a twist on wire connector and wire strippers.

The purple plug positive(denoted as a + inside a circle) keeps its wire, going to front woofer(Samsung PS-WX50) RED. Cut some speaker wire to the back woofer last on the route the wire will take to the rear woofers. Split it, then cut one of the two wires on the speaker wire at the other woofer. strip both ends. Do this to two equal lengths of speaker wire. Split and strip the joined ends of the first wire and connec both ends to the black port on the front woofer, the othe ends to the back woofer RED ports. Take the other wire, join the unsplit ends to the negative wire(helps to cut that short) in the purple plug, using your wire nut. Strip and connect the other ends to the black ports on the back woofers. This basically is a series setup. The back woofers are one one parallel circuit, but are powered as one speaker. therefore, the front speaker and both back speakers(acting as one) are a series loop. To simplify, unit + to front red. Front black to both back red. Both back black to unit -.

Hi i have creative sound blaster 5.1 surround sound. 2 rear, 2 front, center, and sub woofer. i am not getting sound out of the rear speakers. does this box have the capability of running all the speakers...

Your Dell supports up to 7.1 surround sound...I'm guessing you have something hooked up incorrectly. If not, make sure your drivers are up to date on the sound card.

My sub woofer stopped working, please tell me where it is located so i can check the speaker and also check if power is going to it thank you very much joe

The JBL premium sound system has a large woofer in the bottom of each door, a small mid-range speaker next to the woofer, & tweeters next to the front door windows in the corner, & two full-range speakers near the rear seats. The woofer (not sub-woofer) handles all the low end. You can test the woofer by turning the BASS to max and TREBLE to minimum (make sure balance and fader are centered) and put your ear next to each woofer.
The woofer is usually the 1st speaker to have problems after 10 years or so. The outer edge of the woofer starts to degrade. You will usually hear a rattling sound out of the woofer when this happens.
NOTE: If no sound at all out of the woofer (tweeters are OK), you might take your car into a car stereo shop. They can put a speaker on the wires connected to the speaker and make sure your problem is not the radio.
PROBLEM: You can still hear sound out of the woofers but it is distorted
SOLUTION 1: Go to a car audio shop and have them install new woofers. These may cost $30+ each but the dealer cost is over $200 for each woofer (crazy).
SOLUTION 2: More involved but very cost effective. If you or a friend is handy, you can go to www.speakerworks.com and order a new set of speaker outer rings (on the site they are called speaker SURROUND) that will replace the damaged outer rings on the woofers (replace on both woofers). They really work great and your speakers should last for many more years.
Hope this helps.

Logitech X-530 speaker set plugged in as per instructions delivering sound from only front speakers and sub woofer. Nothing from centre and rears. XP system with ASRock ALiveDual-eSATA2 mother board....

Make sure the cables are plugged in the correct places on your PC. You may need to use the headphone out on the back panel. This depends on your audio card in your PC.

I have just been given a pair of aiwa speakers sx-fz1800,there is two cables comming out of the back, which one do i use.

One pair goes to bigger speaker (woofer) and other pair for smaller speakers in box, to get full frequency response, you need to hook both cables.

No sound out of tweeters, highs out of woofers?

it does sound like you shorted out your crossover which can be fixed if you know what you are doing, but in the long run i would try to get another one i know that raidoshack sells some small ones and is also cheap, if your positive that you didnt short out the crossover se if it needs power, see if you can cross your woffers and tweeters on the crossover, if not is there any settings that u can change on the crossover? hope i helped :)

Have new Logitech X-540 speakers and surround sound is not working. Rear speakers are not working. Only recognizing the line out. I have onboard 5.1 sound with my PC

do you have a 5.1 speaker??? if you do have try to install it in different channel if you have a 5.1 sound card you should have 6 channel for the mic , head phone , tweeter bass and surround ... if you only have 2.1 speaker try to put the speaker jack to different channel and check if it work... or try to reinstall the driver for your sound card...
