I took it to a backyard vacuum repair man because I don't have a rainbow dealer within 100 miles and he said he couldn't figure out how to get it apart. It looses most of the motor speed every time the head changes direction. There are no obstructions and everything spins fine when it isn't on the carpet. It looks like there is a spot for two screws, which are not there (repair man may have left them out) but the plastic won't come apart and I am scared to pry it with a screw driver. Is there a secret?
The eSERIES Rainbow has several versions of the power nozzle. Some screw apart and others have snap connections. Look at our website on the manuals page to determine your model. You can also call us and speak to a Rainbow Specialist.

I am looking for a repair manual for this vacuum. Just stopped working and will not turn on. Can you tell me where to get a manual? Thanks
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum. The best way to get a Rainbow E Series owner’s manual is to contact the Rainbow website and or factory and give them the model and serial # for the item and you may be able to download the manual from the website or the might have to mail it out to your home USPS. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Vacuumed with power nozzle one day working fine took attachment off to use crevice tool reattached power nozzle and no power whatsoever.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum. The Rainbow Power Nozzle does have a reset button on the newer model on the top of the power nozzle, just push it and it should reset, or check all your pigtail connections to make sure they are connection and the cord leading to the actual Rainbow Vacuum itself. Out in left field might be that the power nozzle motor could be shorting out or not working or dead and might be in need of replacement. Check the cord for any frays or bad connections. If you have a problem please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

The clear lenses on either side of the top part of the E-series Rainbow are removable. If you look at the each lens you will see two sections on the top edge of each lens that looks like this |___| |___| about 1 1/2 inches in from each end. Put a small screwdriver in the middle of each one of these (I used 2 screwdrivers at once) and pry out. The clips will come undone and you can remove the lens this way, exposing the screws which hold the motor cover on. On my E-2, there were 4 screws under here, and once I removed them, the top came right off.
SOURCE: How do you disassemble Rainbow D4c to replace
Gently pull on the rubber gasket that seals the water tank to the canister. Although there are more screws under there - they aren't necessary to remove only to replace your cord. It is the gasket that is holding the motor flange and the plastic housing together that hinders your progress. If you're gentle about pulling off the gasket and it's in good enough shape, you can usually put it back on with some rubber cement (the same thing it is originally attached with) when you're finished. If the gasket breaks, it would have to be replaced - but not a big deal - they aren't really very expensive.
SOURCE: I don't know how to take apart me Rainbow e2 series vac.
I recently took mine apart because the motor stopped working. Realized the brushes were pretty well worn down and one side was completely gone. I was looking on the internet for detailed instructions on how to take it apart. I ended up just ripping it apart with no problems but made a tutorial to help you guys out. Here's a link to it

This is for the e-series vaccum, not the e2 but they pretty much have the same design and same motor (e2 has a 2 stage motor).
