You would be better off with a brand that has better representation than Grundfos. Several of our commercial customers change to brands such as Armstrong or Bell & Gossett the first chance they get because Grudfos is less reliable and getting parts or service on them much harder.

SOURCE: Ok at the place I

Ok let me ask a few questions. 1.You said U have A 1HP Sub. It pumps from about 300'. How did U get this info? 2.Now the water goes into A 120 Gal storage Tank from the top, then goes out from the bottom. Is Tank A Plastic or Galvanized/PSI Tank. OK NOW.BASED ON THE INFO THAT U PROVIDED.ON THE ISSUES THAT U R HAVING. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR TANK IS WATER LOGGED. WHAT THAT MEANS IS.YOUR TANK IS FILLED TO THE TOP WITH ONLY WATER. SO THE ONLY TIME U GET PRESSURE IS WHEN THE PUMP TURNS ON. NOW TO FIX THIS WATER LOGGED TANK PROBLEM.ALL U NEED IS AIR. SEE WHEN THERE IS AIR IN THE TANK & THE PUMP TURNS ON. WATER GOES INTO THE TANK.IT COMPRESS THE AIR WITCH CREATES PSI. Let me ask u another question. By any chance, before this booster pump was installed.Have U noticed your system turning on & off rapidly.Like all the time. How about your power bill.Has it been kind of high.

What electrical part is connected to the capacitor inside a grundfos up15-42f circulating pump?

Hugh sadly as a retired Heating engineer I think you may be easier to buy a new heating pump as these things are not on the market to purchase.

Why does our Grundfos water pump keep kicking on?

Mine did that. Little known that the Grundfos MQ pump has a small pressure tank on the end. If the pressure is low and the air volume is therefore low, then any tiny loss of water results in pressure drop and pump cycles on. Check the pressure in the tank. This is not well described in the Grundfos service manual.

To pump up the pressure bladder:
1. remove the rear cylindrical cover (swift bash with a fist downwards)
2. unscrew plastic cap on the end (about 2 inches diameter with tapered sides
3. attach pump to schrader valve and pump up (22-25 psi according to service manual)

Reassemble.

Suggest teflon tape to schrader valve stem to try to create a secondary airtight seal.

Grundfos water pump is humming with no turning, if I take pump cover off and turn the shaft it starts?

Sounds like it could be a blown capacitor in the motor. Disconnect from the power supply and remove the capacitor - it is usually situated undet the terminal box cover- examine it for leakage or distortion and replace it if necessary.
