I have a Tom Tom One T purchased about 7 months ago. It has suddenly stopped receiving Traffic Information. When the RDS -TMC is plugged in my Tom Tom does not detect that it is connected. Can anyone offer any solutions as to what the problem is?

Ihave a Go910. Once the application updated to v7.903 the RDS TMC failed. I have discovered that by going back to v.6.525 the system works perfectly. Tom Tom the company is ominously quiet and not responding to me. They initially replaced the receiver but no feedback on the software.

Try resetting the Tom Tom.

Use a paperclip in the reset hole in the bottom of the navigator. See the manual for more details on resetting.

Often this problem is caused by unplugging from the antenna while the navigator is still turned on.

Tomtom still charges but traffic receiver stopped working

I'm using the TomTom Go 730T - I think this is the latest and the last TT with Traffic because TT stopped supplying this option. I'm having the same problem from time to time but a reset helps. Just press the Reset button and after restarting the traffic option is back. Janos

The tomtom device prompts me to connect the traffic receiver. How do I do that

This is for the RDS-TMC antenna.

Plug the end fitting on the antenna into the bottom of the Tom Tom. Plug your normal power cable into the antenna.

If it's working, when you turn it on, you should see a new display, narrow, vertical, on the far-right side of the screen.

Sometimes my RDS-TMC connects with my tomtom go 930 and sometimes not in a random way. Any suggestions?

This sounds like the connector on the TT or the plug on the RDS cable is at fault. If you continually plug and unplug the RDS and do not have the entry angle exactly perpendicular every time this can damage the socket ion the TT and effectively make it loose. I had this happen with a TT TrafficMaster and ended up replacing the on board RDS socket and then no more problems. Alternatively the right angled RDS plug may have a problem ith the cable at the point where it joins the plug. If you move the cable (not the plug - hold this steady with one hand) gently when it is connected to the TT you may see that the connection gets broken. If so then you can replace the plug on the RDS cable for a higher quality metal one. If you have room use a gold plated straight entry plug with cable strain relief rather than a plastic plug without strain relief. If the unit is out of warranty and you are capable of using a fine point soldering iron then you can replace the onboard socket for a higher quality gold plated socket.

The TMC was working fine on my tom tom ONE XL but has now suddenly stopped recognising it when connected. I connect, turn on the tom tom but no receiver indicated. can you help please?

Try resetting the Tom Tom.

To do this: Stick the end of a paperclip into the reset hole in the bottom of the receiver. See your manual for the details on this.

This fault is often caused by unplugging the receiver from the navigator before turning the navigator off.

CANNOT ACCESS TOM TOM TRAFFIC

If you're using a RDS-TMC, then you don't need to go through Tom Tom Traffic. The traffic bar should show up on the right-hand side of the screen, and you're good to go.

If that bar isn't showing up, here's what to do:

Reset the navigator (use a paperclip in the hole on the bottom of the unit). Plug the RDS-TMC antenna into the navigtor. Plug the car charger cable into the RDS-TMC antenna. Turn on the Tom Tom.

Is there a traffic information bar now?

Unable to get it connected

Is this the RDS-TMC?

Try resetting the navigator (using a paperclip in the reset hole in the bottom of the device). Then plug it in again and see if anything's changed. Remember that the antenna must be connected to power for it to work.

Are you seeing the vertical display on the right-hand side of the screen?

If the thing is constantly searching but never showing traffic updates, it's possible that you don't live in an area that has active RDS-TMC broadcasts.
