I have just replaced the water inley valve on my LG LD-14AW2, however after filling with water message E1 error comes up suggesting water damage. No visible leaks or damage. Any clues.
Same problem , impellor thread stripped off motor, Had it supposedly "checked out " under warranty with supposedly no fault found by the agents but now I see the motor wires have been cut and taped so it seems the motor has already been replaced once. In South Africa they only sell complete motor with impeller. PS any part number for the upgraded motor/impellor ?Same problem , impellor thread stripped off motor, Had it supposedly "checked out " under warranty with supposedly no fault found by the agents but now I see the motor wires have been cut and taped so it seems the motor has already been replaced once. Have had the same problem for about a year now but it has been intermittent. I couldn't see any leaks and put it down to the board playing up. I'd restart it after the E1 error and she'd run fine....until last night. Wouldn't run at all. Still couldn't see any leaks so I checked the impella, all good. I tried to reconnect but couldn't stop a small leak around the head of the hose. Hmmm, replaced the hose and she seems fine now. Maybe mine was a genuine E1 error all along, but I couldnt for the love of god find that leak. Still, I wouldnt' buy another LG, their quality just isn't there..particularly given the price we paid. When this one eventually goes I'll get a Bosch or an Asko.
Just had the same problem. It is a common defect of the standard pump motor assembly and LG recognises it and sells the whole assembly for $38. They changed the type of motor and now is 120W instead of the original 45W. They also supply a modified bracket to fit the new motor.
The E1 error message on my LG LD-14AW2 Dishwasher was also a broken impella which had disconnected from the motor shaft.
I ordered a new motor & impella assembly (Part No. M060, which comes as a single part) from Big Warehouse Spares (http:\\spares.bigwarehouse.com.au) which cost AUD$96.50 total to my door.
A very simple part replacement (just remove the top and side panels and turn upside down for access) and it is now working fine.
Just had the same problem with mine. I tricked the door latch and watched the unit do it's thing. I noticed that after the fill occoured the unit was then suppose to circuate the water but it didn't and thats when the E1 error came up. I pulled the thing apart and found that the impella on the circulation motor had broken. I ordered a new motor and impella and it is now running.
Good Luck

The E1 or 1E error or fault code indicates that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve.

Error
code IE on LG dishwasher means Inlet error. This error comes up when the Water
Supply Tap is closed or Water Supply is shut off. If water supply is turned on
then make sure that the Inlet Hose is not kinked and water Pressure is not low
(should be above 10 psi). Next thing to check for is Water Inlet Valve, measure
the electric resistance of Inlet Valve. (950-1300 ohms) Make sure the filter of
Inlet Valve is not clogged.
Hope this helps... Please post back

The E1 ERROR mean's your main wash motor is clogged or failed & you need to pull it apart completley to test or clear the blockage.Generally its just clogged so get a lg service guy to do it cause he will know your dishwasher inside out.THANKS, ECO KIZZA
E1 is a code that the dishwasher displays after detecting a leak. There is a sensor on the pan at the very bottom of the unit. Take the bottom front panel off, look under the unit at the hose coming off the pump and your fill line to be sure no water is dripping. Run the unit in a wash cycle while doing this if possible.
E1 is a common error in the LG Dishwasher range and is usually caused by the failure of the circulation pump and/or the impeller.
The motor and impeller are a complete unit.
Often what happens is the impeller breaks on the motor shaft and doesn't spin, therefore doesn't pump water.
There is a pressure sensor which indicates the lack of pressure and shuts the machine down with the E1 error being displayed.
The lack of pressure can also be from a water leak (as the owners manual suggests) also a controller PCB fault may produce an E1 error, however, the pump problem is extremely common.
Unfortunately, I have had 5 pumps die in 4 years and my dishwasher is only used about 4 times a week.
I have this sometimes where E1 is reported and the pump remains on. The following voodoo has worked for me.
1) Make sure there is not a real drain problem. 2) Cancel any cycle or turn the power button off then on. 3) Run a rinse cycle (15 minutes). 4) If pump continues to run, turn off the power to the dishwasher, let stand for a minute, then repeat steps 2-3. If still not working, leave power off over night and leave the door open then try again.
In each iteration, it is important to curse your LG product and/or threaten it with replacement.
