According to kitchen aid reps, you can not clean the filter, you can only buy a new one from them for it. i have cleaned mine, but it is only a limited solution

I watched a video last night of a lady who took the side cover off and used a pipe brush to clean the black mold residue out of the pipes. I was pretty gross back there and she said it was only a year old. Check the side where the water connection is.

Vacuum will be working and then it cuts out, like it loses power. Plug it into a different outlet and it starts working again.

Your vacuum has a thermal reset built into the motor. If it is getting to hot it will shut off and won't turn on until it cools down. This is a sign of a clog somewhere or the filters need to be replaced. If you are getting dust building up on the vacuum that is an indicator the filters may need replaced.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error HF on your washer means that a water inlet problem has occurred. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

If there is no water in the unit:-

  • Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
  • Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
  • Check inlet valve operation.

If there is water in the unit:-

  • Check Drain pump operation
  • Pressure Switch Hose is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch.

However, it is also caused by a clogged drain filter.

Step One: Unplug Washer

Step Two: Remove front Panel from Washer

Step Three: Locate Filter Assembly(and be ready to soak up water with a towel)

Step Four: Remove Filter. It’s Gross. Check for some coins, socks, toothpicks, etc.

Step Five: Clean Filter

Step Six: Replace Clean Filter

Step Seven: Reinstall the Front Panel. Run load of clothes.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Water Tube w/ Algae

Depending on how far up the growth is, a Q-tip or old fashioned pipe cleaner will do. Typically this is due to the water having the chlorine removed by the filter. I recommend that you remove your filter and install the bypass plug (if needed) and run a few gallons of unfiltered water through the system then let it sit overnight. The chlorine will kill any growth, then you can put the filter back in for filtered water. Usually doing this every few months will keep the "green" out.
