SOURCE: hotpoint condenser tumble dryer aquarius cdt00- wont dry

I am not familiar with this particular unit, but I have a condensing dryer (Malber) which pumps out the water by itself. I am guessing that your unit requires you to empty a bin manually. Even if the bin is empty, I think the unit thinks it needs to be emptied and that is why the dryer will not work to give you hot air. If you do have such a bin, it might have a weight switch which the unit uses to detect if the bin needs emptying. See if the weight switch is working. The same weight switch idea is used on dehumidifiers.

This link goes directly to the exploded view/tear down page for G.E. dryers at Repairclinic.com. From there you can navigate back to the parts breakdown/order page. Just enter your model no. in the search box and click search Most G.E. dryers have 3 or 4 screws holding the top panel to the front panel. Open the door andd they should be accessible at the top of the door opening. After removing those, then should be 2 screws at the bottom to loosen, then the front lifts off the 2 screws. The diagram should help guide you through the rest.

SOURCE: MAYTAG GAS DRYER TUMBLES BUT NO HEAT (FRONT LOADER 6 YRS. OLD)

Hello maryfitgera,
It certainly sounds like you are not getting a flame established in your dryer. That can be one of several components such as a non-resettable thermal fuse, gas valve assembly or control relay to that gas valve assembly. Unless you are well versed on how to work on these kinds of components, I suggest you just call in an appliance tech or.. let me know if you want to attempt diagnosing and repairing it yourself. Be advised that there are elements of danger in so doing. Let me know how you want to procede on this and I'd be happy to walk you thru it..
Regards,
Rick

My white knight tumble dryer wont start

Nothing works or drum fails to turn (tumble dryers)
Ensure that the power supply to the dryer is switched on, the timer is set to the desired drying time and the door is correctly closed. If you have a condenser model, also check that the bottle is empty and is fully pushed into the machine.

The first thing to establish when troubleshooting the clothes dryer is whether the dryer will start or not. If it won't, start by checking the outlet and the circuit breaker. Is the dryer plugged in or has it tripped the circuit breaker? If the breaker has been tripped, flip it back on and try the dryer again. The drum should turn without a problem.
If both plug and breaker are fine, you'll need to inspect the door switch as you continue to troubleshoot the tumble dryer. When you close the door on the dryer, a plastic peg should click and operate the switch which allows the dryer to work. The peg might be bent or broken, in which case it won't connect with the switch. You can try to straighten the peg, but if it's broken, you'll need to replace it. If the peg is fine, the switch has probably failed and will need to be replaced.

I have a fridgedaire front load dryer (Model AEQ6700FS0) and it will start up, run for about 30 seconds and then it stops tumbling and the 3 lights on the far right (drying, cooldown, extended tumble)...

This is just a guess in a way, as I don't have specific knowledge about your particular model, but could it be a wrinkle prevention feature? I know some dryers have a feature which will cycle the dryer on for an occasional short tumble if the regular cycle ends and the clothes have not been removed. Opening the door might be all it takes to cancel the function.

Dryer will not stop running

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

Wed9200sq0 heats, tumbles but does not dry at any heat setting

You are correct. Pull the dryer out and disconnect your venting from the back of the dryer. Turn your dryer on and check to make sure your dryer is blowing air out of the dryer duct. If it is then leave your dryer out at least 2 ft from the wall and run a load of clothes through the dryer. If it dries your clothes normally then you have a venting restriction. Check to make sure your venting is clean, not kinked or smashed, make sure your outside vent is opening an doesn.t have something blocking it. Check your lint screen filter by running water through it. If water is not flowing through it, you have a build up of fabric softener on your screen, blocking air flow. Scrub your screen off and test again. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

I have a tumble dryer.

Sounds as if the door switch is the problem. This is normally a safety switch that stops the dryer when the door is opened.
Unplug the dryer.
Remove the door switch and check the switch condition with a continuity meter after removing the wires. Try turning the switch on and off....the meter should read power on and off when you do that.
You may have to remove the front of the dryer to get to the door switch.
Good luck,
I hope this helps

Whirlpool Ultimate care ii Dryer wont tumble

If your dryer doesn't tumble, check these:
Belt,
Motor,
Door switch.

Your dryer can't operate at all if the door switch is defective. It's inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
Dryers have a drive belt that turns the clothes drum. If the belt breaks, the drum stops rotating. Then you need to replace the belt, and often the idler pulley, because the pulley tends to wear out at the same time.
If the dryer motor only hums when you press the Start button, the motor may be burned out. Here's how to test the dryer motor:

Remove the belt,
Check for obstructions in the blower fan housing,
Manually rotate the shaft of the motor.

If the motor is very stiff, or impossible to rotate manually, and the blower fan housing is clear, you need to replace the motor.

If the motor rotates freely, run the motor momentarily with the belt removed and the blower in place. If the motor runs fine with the belt removed, there may be a problem with the idler pulley or the clothes drum. Try to rotate the drum by hand. If it is very difficult to move, correct any problem with the rollers or pulley, and then reassemble the dryer and try it again.

Go here to see a diagram for your model:
one of two types. "H" or "J"
