Aloha and Mahalo for the efforts! Up to now, no problems at all with my flashdrive. Then today a message has enabled security on the U3 which is demanding a "password" of which I have no recollection of even creating upon first usage. I have used up two probable choices with no success and am down to just 3 before "permanent freeze" of internal data. Is there a "generic" password I may be unaware of. Why is the security still enabled when the onboard McAffee trial subscription has expired? I have within stored crucial anti-spyware/malware programs and a beautiful gallery of NASA/JPL/Hubble JPEG's I collected for a college project due soon!!! Mayday! Mayday! Any heroes still out there to help????? Please aidez-moi!!!!

Try booting with the device already in the USB port. If that doesn't work, try doing the same accept into safe mode. Once you can recognize the drive, reformate the drive. This might resolve your issue.

Presuming that you would like to recover your data, I suggest you use a Free Recovery Tool called "PC Inspector". It has relieved a few headaches for me and is easy to install and use.
Download from here:

As always, please check the file for unwanted nasties before installing/downloading
SOURCE: I accidentally remove my "LaunchU3"
Are you sure you can't access it anymore?
LaunchU3 is only a quick launch program that comes with Cruzer flash drives. Even if the program is deleted, you should still be able to access your other files. Just go to Start -> Computer and your flash drive should be listed next to your hard drive.
If that doesn't work, then perhaps you deleted other files along with LaunchU3. In that case, you will have to use data recovery software to un-delete the files.
