Take a look at the suggestions at the top of page 122 of the Advanced Camera User Guide. The suggestion is that the cause may have been that the camera was still on when the memory card/battery cover was opened. Try closing the cover and then turning the camera off and then on again. Hope this helps.

Canon SD850 focusing problem: When I zoom in, the camera no longer focuses; any shot taken with any level of zoom turns out blurry. How can I get this fixed? Thanks!

Sounds like some sand or other dirt inside the focus gears. There are very small gears in the focus system and even one piece of sand can block it at some point. The only way is to take it all apart and clean it under a microscope. I have repaired a lot of these. You will have to give it to a camera technician.

How do you use colour accent on a photo that you have already taken???

you cannot do it on the camera itself but there are a lot of free photo software that you can use.
try: Picasa or paint.net (search it on google)

My SD850 Canon says Lens Error restart camera. I have tried to turn it on/off numerous times taken out the battery and sd card. Is there anything else I can try

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Black Screen on Canon PowerShot SD750

Probably bad CCD. !!! Check if there is possibility of free of charge repair !!! Many models are repaired free with CCD broken, even warranty time is passed.

Zoom lens stuck

Hummmmmm.......I guess it all depends on how hard the drop was. At this point, you have nothing to lose by tinkering around with it.....but my guess would be that it's taken it's last picture. You might try locating a camera repair shop, or even an independent jeweler. They might could at least take a look at it and give you a second opinion. Hope this helps, and sorry about the bad luck!!!!

Pictures ive taken on my refurbished sd850 are blurry

it might be because your camera moved while you were taking pictures or try cleaning the lens...

Canon PowerShot® SD850 IS

Hi

what you are seeing is a generic message that means there is some sort of problem with the lens, it could happen in many different ways such as sand or dirt in the lens gears.

If your camera is less than a year old, please call Canon and have them fix it under warranty!

If your camera is more than a year old and out of warranty, a couple solutions would be to either buy a defective camera online and make one good camera from the two if you can do that sort of thing yourself, or secondly have it repaired by somebody.

Don't bother trying to send the camera to Canon for repair out of warranty (though you can call them and verify what I'm about to say) because they will want $150+ to do the repair for you. Parts are not cheap to buy from them.

I know of one very affordable digital camera repair business... because I own it. The name is Darntoothysam com, feel free to check us out, we are on that big auction website also (I don't plug their name for free), our seller ID is 'darntoothysam'. If you Google "darntoothysam" you will find us.

We have your repair listed as a package in our store for about $70. This covers a new lens, and return shipping of your camera! We even give a 45 day warranty on parts and labor. If you think you can use us then please check us out, even if you need to ask more questions then please feel free to contact me.

Hope this helps,

Thomas

Well I dropped my Canon PowerShot® SD850 IS on the bathroom floor!

You need to take it to a camera shop for servicing, this is not something you're going to be able to solve at home
