Make sure that the tv set's rf frequency is set to the same rf as the vcr. If both are identical then something is definitely wrong with the tv set since the vcr works fine with another set.
Blue screen usually appears when there is either bad or no data signa Possibly something is not connected or set up correctly. Has anything been changed since you last viewed your tapes?l
The tv LCD screen panel reconize the VCR and have the LCD screen panel, have a LCD have a blue screen wright, that incated u hook up the VCR wright. The VCR is not playing the tape, because is the VCR have problems,Not the tv itself.
The tape head needs cleaning. Best to use the type that you put a drop or two of alcohol on. Find a cleaning tape that works best for you, or have a TV shop do it for you. The "Blue Screen" is what the TV defaults to when the signal is not strong enough, either through the tv tuner, or the tape head signal. If this is helpful... click "FixYa" below. Thanks! Len
Change TV viewing channel to 3 or 4. If this works your VCR's output channel got changed during storm. If this is the case, review previous answers to prblems with this VCR.
This may be a bit late but I just ran across these posts. All these problems can be caused by bad tapes. Commercially-made tapes will usually play properly. But home recorded tapes, or very worn tapes, may not play back properly in every VCR. If the VCR isn't getting the right information off the tape for proper playback, it's muting the sound and the screen so you don't see any snow. It's also possible that the VCR heads already need a cleaning. It takes just one worn-out or defective tape to clog up the heads and cause the "no picture" problem, although in this case sound isn't usually affected.
