My bosch dishwasher does not fill with water (although it drains)

The dishwasher does not fill with water. Motor is fine. Dishwasher drains when I manually fill it - but does not work

    Thank you for your answer, but, unfortunately, it was not the answer. The problem was a defective gasket allowing water into the machine.

Most bosch have the inlet valve at the end of the fill pipe and it has an anti-flood device.
try turning off the water, take off the fill pipe then reconnect it and see if this works.
taking off the fill pipe resets the anti-flood device

Motor keeps running. Water heats fine. Help
One of the reasons for motor not draining during normal cycle is the check valve is stuck. It is meant to return to normal during drain cycle but close during wash. I think the cancel is resetting it and letting water out.

Bosch Dishwasher won't fill with water
Certainly *sounds* like the float is stuck in the over filled position
or possible a bad float switch, if the float is stuck in the up or full position, the d/w will not fill with water and the drain motor will often run all the time

Check the drain line underneath the sink.
It should be suspended just below the counter top.
If it is too low,water from the sink will back fill into the dishwasher.
If the drain is OK,then the dishwasher water valve is defective.

you could have something caught in the drain pump.
