Do not know how to wire my sa-w10 speakers together

For surround sound, you need an A/V receiver with 5.1 or 7.1 surround capability. Depending on what kind of receiver you have, the DVD player, satellite/cable box, etc hooks to the receiver, those signals go out to the TV, and the speakers hook to the receiver. The receiver decodes the signal from the cable/satellite box or DVD player and routes it to the appropriate speakers. If the TV program or DVD isn't HD or coded for surround sound, the best you can expect is 2.1 channel stereo sound. OR, you can hook everything (DVD, satellite/cable box) to the TV and run an optical cable from the Digital Output of the TV to the receiver, which is basically the same thing, just a different way to hook everything up. Hope this helps

Overload sa-tx50

Most overloads are caused by the main output devices. They will go short circuit if for example speaker wires have come into touch. Another cause is high volume or a faulty speaker. Or poor ventilation around the amp causing excess heat.
The only cure is to replace the device(s) generally located on the heat sink.

I have a SA 8300HD cable box connected to Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver using Digital Audio Out from cable box to DVR/VCR2 on the receiver. It had been working for 2 years. Then this past weekend it stopped...

Pretty good problem description.

Make sure the DVR/VCR2 digital input is assigned to the Cable box.

When the DVR/VCR2 input is selected do you get any front panel indicators on the Yamaha that indicate a good digital bitstream?

Try swapping the cable box output to the working DVD In connection to isolate it to either the source or the receiver's ability to decode it.

Check the audio output settings for the Cable Box, too. Sometimes their outputs are adjustable. It may be muted or set too low.

No Dolby Digital through DVD player

Have you configured the digital output settings on the DVD player? You may need to set the digital output format in the DVD player setup menu. If it is set for LPCM then you won't get sound. It has to be set for bitstream and yoou may need to tell the player what output to use.

As you didn't mention the brand of DVD player, I can't really give you any detailed instructions.

Also try using the optical cable that you have connected to the cable box to test it and see if you get any output on that connector. If yyou do then it is a setting in the amp that is not configured properly,

Best of luck

Cheers

Sony str-dg820. having a problem getting video on tv

Hook up Composite / Component Monitor Out wire from receiver to TV video input because receiver will not change analog input into HDMI
You need to connect receiver and TV through analog video terminals as above.
Actually you are expecting that receiver will convert DVD player and Xbox analog video input into digital HDMI signal for TV and This is incorrect.

CONNECTING MY TV TO MY STEREO

Make sure the output in your tv menu is set to external speakers. Any digital optical cable, or RCA jacks hooked up properly from the TV's out put to the receivers input should work just fine. Take your time, retrace your steps, and make sure each cable is in the correct input/output. And make sure the receiver and TV are on the proper settings. Good Luck, and thanks for using FixYa!
