No blinking green light at all. I replaced the capacitors on the DM module about three months ago (blinking green light indicator) and worked fine until now. Any guidance what to look for? Sounds like fuses but fuses don't blow without some other issue.
If you do not have the service manual I can get you a link for a free online copy which contains a lot of information for free.
It can be either read or downloaded for free.
The manual on/off is on the front of the set but not likely to be your problem.
I have what may sound like a stupid suggestion--if the set has the DM unit and was unplugged and plugged back that green power light must blink for 70 seconds while the DM boots up.
If you have the schematic follow the AC into the set to the power board where it is changed to DC----
What made you change the caps in the DM? Not being a smart mouth but wondering set had before that a different issue like the green light blinking nonstop or what?
This is like having a truck (just had this) with no power anywhere--no lights nothing.
The problem has to be very very close to where power enters the set--If you have the diagram--AC into set, at some point there will be a turn where voltage goes to the standby--that has to be on all the time so remote can or power button can try to turn set on.
It will diverge there with main line going to rectifier--if the standby source (usually under 5 volts) is not there it does not matter as that powers the microprocessor and that actually turns the power supply on and the set with it.
Follow the voltage---and FYI if ever have the blinking green light again disconnect the two plugs up front from the keyboard that go in the set--set will still turn on as remote receiver is above the lens in this set.
Seen a few who thought the DM was bad but it was one of the switches on the front keyboard.
I have worked on a lot of these sets and if it gets too hard consider pulling the entire light box out and working on it that way---if need explanation let me know.
Read the manuals a bit---the metal shields around the tubes are at earth ground.
Be aware voltages between bridge up to the large filter caps may be measured from a HOT ground until safely past the other side of the supply and then HOT ground ends---watch what you do----should be symbols on schematic with indication of hot or earth ground---one of the first pages will show the symbols.
Watch where you measure as if set tries to fire up some voltages have high RF on them.
I suspect somewhere between the power cord and the secondary side of a transformer you will lose all voltages.

Hi,
Check this link for guidance with pictures about DM board removal.
Thank you.
SOURCE: My Mitsubishi WS-65511 won't turn on.
I have had my WS-65511 fail like this, first at 4 years, second 2 weeks later, then 3rd time yesterday (4/14/2009). In past, the tech replaced a thermal sensor p/n 299P313010A (but Mitsubishi says that part is not for WS-65511 and that it does not have a thermal sensor - go figure). It is a white rectangle with about 30 pins in 2 rows and is soldered onto a board in the TV. List price is about $25. Might be your problem.

The DM capacitors need to be replaced. Heres a link to the DM kit for your model which contains the replacement capacitors and instructions with pictures that show how to do the repair.

Opened up the back and all the fuses checked ok on the main boards and the DM module as well. Does anyone know where the on/off switch is located? Wondering if it could be a switch problem.....
I have the manuals. Am looking for suggestions on what might be the problem. I can read the info but am not a trained TV tech but if pointed in the right direction, I can check things out.
I appreciate the response. I will try to unplug the DM module. But i actually think I already did that because I took out the module to check the fuses in it and had to unplug each of the four or five sets of cables/wires to pull out the module.
As for the capacitors, I did have the green blinking light problem about three months ago, ordered the repair kit, and fixed the problem.
Any further insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks SD Tech for the insight. Been away for work and will get in there to trace the power. One quick question - for checking voltages, where would be a good reference/ground point to use. Didn't look closely but I don't recall seeing a ground bus on the main board coming in. Thanks again.
