Zenith Flat panel TVs usually only have two boards in them Plasmas have a few more, doing a visual inspection of the power supply capacitors usually reveals swollen or bulging capacitors.
If the capacitors look good, voltage checks would be needed to isolate the problem to either the main board or power supply. Check for 5 volts to the IR board (& or keyboard) , if five volts is present suspect the main board
If this TV has voltages from power supply , suspect the Z, X and buffers

Any time a TV is totally dead that is due to one of two boards except when they're both in one (which is becoming more common with time).

Those are the power supply board and the main board.

In case of Zenith z50pg10 it is usually the power supply and not the main board. It is possible to be the main, but it is not likely, statistically speaking.

Here's a link to the power:

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: MY 50 INCH PLASMA TV WENT BLACK I CAN ONLY HEAR

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found at tv-part.com but supplies are limited. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

I have audio but no picture on my Zenith Z50PG10 50" plasma tv?

Plasmas are like tube TV's(CRT). Once the plasma tube breaks, air gets in, plasma gas gets out. And that's it. They are an enclosed vacuum picture tube. I don't know why people buy plasma. The newer LED have a much better picture. Rich people who swear by plasma, are ridiculous in my opinion. Again, if plasma tube breaks, thats it. Any wrong jarring can break a plasma tube.

Zenith z50pg10 has no power no led no click nothing !

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.5_27_2012_3_02_53_pm.jpg5_27_2012_3_03_17_pm.jpg
