SOURCE: Denon receiver AVR-3300: Unstable source selection

Very important you have run system set up menu it configures your receiver with inputs analog or digital, speaker size, input, room correction etc Different input modes can be selected for the different input sources.
The selected input modes for the separate input sources are stored in
the memory.
q AUTO (auto mode)
In this mode, the types of signals being input to the digital and
analog input jacks for the selected input source are detected and
the program in the AVR-3300’s surround decoder is selected
automatically upon playback. This mode can be selected for all
input sources other than PHONO, MD/TAPE and TUNER.
The presence or absence of digital signals is detected, the signals
input to the digital input jacks are identified and decoding and
playback are performed automatically in DTS, Dolby Digital or PCM
(2 channel stereo) format. If no digital signal is being input, the
analog input jacks are selected.
w PCM (exclusive PCM signal playback mode)
Decoding and playback are only performed when PCM signals are
being input.
e DTS (exclusive DTS signal playback mode)
Decoding and playback are only performed when DTS signals are
being input.
r ANALOG (exclusive analog audio signal playback mode)
The signals input to the analog input jacks are decoded and played.
t EXT. IN (external decoder input jack selection mode)
The signals being input to the external decoder input jacks are
played without passing through the surround circuitry Your remote is searching for inputs because you did not properly run system set up!!! Here is a link to your manual [PDF] AVR-3300/1 3.3E*

Denon AVR-3300 Audio Video Surround Receiver. I have a question. Am I able to hook up regular speakers that are not surround to it and have them work on there? Please let me know. Thank you.

Question edited for clarity and 'AVE' to 'AVR'..

Yes of course no problem. The speakers are just that, a speaker, the processing is done by the Denon box not the speaker. You can use any speaker with an impedence of 6 to 16 ohms.

Hum created by Denon AVR-3300

Look for bad electrolytic capacitors. Swollen up on top or leaking, puffed out on bottom. If they look alright, you will need a capacitor tester to see if any have dried up. That's the first thing I check for hum.

I have a denon avr 2000 dsp and want a manual which nobody has and I want to hook up my ipod classic. There isn't any AUX front or rear and I don't have a dock.

To hook up your ipod, get a 3.5mm to rca cable and use your ipod's headphone jack. Just don't turn the volume way up on the ipod otherwise the input signal may to at too high a level for the receiver.

Can i hook up a power amp to my denon avr-3300 with out a pre-amp

Yes. Your receiver has the required pre-out connection terminals needed to go to an external amplifier. That would make your receiver operate as the pre-amp/processor.

How to connect and set up my DENON AVR-3300 to my LG tv. Waht connections on amp and tv do I use?

Hi,
  • if you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver, AVR-3300 ** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input"
** than just switch to respective mode on
AVR-3300 RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your TV sound is on the
AVR-3300
Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the TV (tuner, satellite , Xbox ) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..

Denon AVR-3300 component channel switch burnout?

hi there, i don't have a solution unfortuantely, but i may have the same problem. I have a denon 2802 av receiver, i bought it second hand and I can't seem to get the component video in / out working. Are you supposed to just plug it in and it works? Because I can't find any buttons or settings to select component in / out as my input / output sources?
