Downloading videos from camcorder canon DC230

I am using canon camcorder DC230. I shot many functions and festivals. I couldn't download the recorded videos from the camcorder and more over, I couldn't play the finalised DVD in computers or in DVD players. When I purchased the camcorder, I did not get "My DVD for Canon" CD-ROM. How can I transfer the videos from the camcorder to computer?

Same problem here. Plug the camera into a Windows Pc via USB and you get another DVD drive appear in MY computer. You cant explore it to look at whats on the camcorder... or do anything with it in fact.

Same problem. Once the mini DVD is inserted, the laptop freezes after playing the 1st frame. I tried to download the software, but the file was corrupted. Frustrating to say the least and the Canon website is less than useful.

Did you put the camcorder in playback mode before plug in?
If yes and still same check on a different pc.If still same than it is a camcorder issue
If on a different pc all is ok then reinstall the drivers on your mac

How can I download a video from my Canon DC230 to my computer?

You need to download the Canon drivers so the program can re-format the disk to a readable version for your computer.

Here is the link to the canon drivers, they should work, im downloading them right now with your same problem.

Hi,
Here's the list of Canon's supported Operating system.

The macbook pro is not supported by canon DC230 that is why it cannot recognize your camera.
