We have a bunch of extra phones at work. These phones are through computer system and has multiple functions including conference calls, multiple lines, hold etc. I need a simple phone at home. Can the phone work at home on my regular home telephone line?
An "Optipoint 500" phone can not be used at home!
It is a digital phone, specifically designed for Siemens digital phone systems. Do not plug it in at home. That could damage the phone or may knock your phone line off.
However you can use a "Optipoint 500 IP" phone at home for voice over IP calls. But this would be connected into your broadband router and would connect via the web to your companys Siemens phone system.

I bought a used Siemens Optipoint 500 Advance. It seems the phone is not working. If I connect the phone to my home phone line, all what it does is that the LEDs flash and nothing happens. Does anyone know what the issue is?
