How to install officejet6313 all in one in Linux?

I bought a new officejet 6313 all in one machine. I don't know how to install in Linux. The system is not detecting it.

    Really? I have had two HP printers and they are all detected out of the box. Some linux distros have an add new printer wizzard like windows. Have you tried that? If you tell me the name of your linux then I could probably help better.

Create a free space.(from computer(right click)>manage>disk management)then delete a volume...the install fedora12 or ubantu 9

did u get any cd's along with the printer?then Pls install software,then go to start-programs-hp(there u can find hpscan.or if u r using xp hten got start-controlpanel-open Scanners&camera(open/add device from here).

  • Did you try connecting the printer on any other USB port?
  • Do you get any notification while connecting the printer? or any sound?
  • What is the computer Operating System?
  • If you have any other cable, try with it.

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
