hood should be connected to a fused spur outlet which you havent found. try removing the chimney and you may find it there. chimney only held by 2 screws at top usually.the fuse in the outlet sometimes goes when bulbs blow

It's probably a bad fan switch or a loose/corroded/broken electrical connector in the fan circuit. Another possibility (but not as likely) is the fan motor has failed.

mrsomuch is almost right, its the steel cage which surrounds the glass that you have to gently prize out.

I'm not sure if it a regular home range hood but if it is. Check the price of a new one. A regular home range hood cost around $100.00 and a fan motor runs around the same. If it a commercial type is another story. If commercial Heritage Food Service Equipment will have the motor.

Filters clean? Fan running? No clogs in the exhaust?
On the one hand, you want the disagreeable stuff out of the kitchen - on the other hand, you want to keep your heated or cooled home air to stay inside.
