Denon AVR-2106 troubles

Hi, I am having trouble with my Denon AVR-2106 unit. The unit will intermittently change its surround setting. For ex, I will set it to ?7CH Stereo? and after a while the unit might switch itself to ?Game? or ?Rock Arena.? I wonder if this is caused by too much heat building up in the enclosed stereo cabinet?? Or is there some other explanation? Also, I have correctly wired my surround speakers (2 fronts, 1 center, 1 subwoofer and 2 rears) to the unit, but for some reason the only surround setting that activates the rear speakers is the ?7CH Stereo? setting. That seems wrong. Can you help? Thanks, Jeff

If the surround back is turned on,on the receiver, then the 7CH stereo will activate the 2 rear, but if it's off on the receiver the 5CH on the remote will do the same. I don't know much about the unit changing from 7CH to game, rock Arena etc.that i know will happen if u press the DSP simulation found @ the 3rd. top right button on the remote.

Zone 2 does not respond

Make sure that you go into the speaker system menu and set it to zone 2. The zone 2 speaker jacks can be assigned to other things such as surround back.

My Denon AVR 2106 gives sound out periodically in all modes

So you have no sound on any Inputs?  This makes a difference, if it works on some inputs but not others.  For a factory reset - turn the unit off by the ON/OFF button (not the standby button) hold in the SPEAkER A & B buttons at the smae time, while pressing them turn the system on by the ON/OFF button, wait about 3 seconds and the unit should reset everything.

Denon AVR 2106 amp failure

Does it still power up for a little bit or so with no sound what so ever?....I there is no dents in it or metal pushed in causing cracked connector boards....I can take it off you hands for a couple parts I need ...because your transformer and 2 resisters are shot and it will cost almost as much as the unit cost's.

I do have a brand new never opend $649.99 Denon AVR-788 for $365.00.
And 2 used AVR units Denon and Onkyo.....ALL HDMI

HAVE TO UP VOLUME ON DENON 2106 TO HEAR ALL AUDIO IN NIGHT MODE

There should be a volume adjust on the center channel. This is done by the remote exclusively. You may also wish to compress the sound using the dynamic range compression button or so labeled.
