My cousin set up BIOS password then he forgot it. Whenever it starts, we could not log in because we forgot the password. Is there any solution for this issue?

The BIOS password is probably the Power On Password.
This method may not work. Remove the BIOS battery for 20 mins until the charge in the BIOS is depleted. Insert the BIOS battery go into the BIOS setting and set the Date and Time etc.
If this does nor work then the BIOS password is stored on an EEPROM chip and removing the BIOS battery won't work and there is probable no backdoor passwords.
The Sony support maybe able to offer a solution, check the support WEB site..

SOURCE: recovering password or reseting

Well the failsafe way to do that is to remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard. But that involves opening the case to the laptop and finding/removing it.

Opening a laptop is certainly not an easy thing to do, however.

Another option is to find your model number, go to the SONY website and find the manual. There may be instructions in the manual on how to clear the CMOS password.

Also, there is sometimes a RESET button on the bottom of laptops. (It'll usually require a paperclip to activate it.) If your laptop has that, then it'll most likely clear the CMOS password.

Good luck.

I forgot my sony vaio bios password

Remove the battery, remove the power cord and start taking the laptop apart. You will need to remove the CMOS battery located on the motherboard and let it sit for an hour or two. Then but it all back together. The CMOS battery is a silver battery about the size of a nickel.

Forgot bios password sony vaio model PCG-3A4L

Most motherboards are made with a reset switch. It is a line of three pins, with a jumper over two of them. To reset the bios (completely... everything back to factory settings) you move the jumper onto the other end of this line. Then boot the system up, turn it off again, put the jumper back into its original position and there will be no bios password.

I have set the password for administrator when i entered the bios set up. you can change its setting but not the configuration unless you've entered the password. you can't change the password with a new one if you cant enter the old password. Next time dont forget your password because laptops has its security even when stolen you cant open its bios set up if its protected by password. CMOS battery is in the mother board. You need a service technician to open your laptop to reset the bios setup battery.
