Most laptops do not have a BIOS button to reset the BIOS settings.
To reset the BIOS just remove the BIOS battery and wait for approx.20 mins for the battery charge to discharge then replace the battery.
OR
After removing the BIOS battery just short out the battery terminals on the motherboard with a paper clip, the replace the BIOS battery and go into the BIOS setting to change the Date and Time etc.

There isnt a fuse for the LCD screen.
If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

How do I access my BIOS to change boot options when I forgot the password to access the BIOS?

Remove all power and the CMOS battery for awhile, then reinsert. You might also short across the battery leads on the motherboard while the battery is removed; you need to remove all voltages to reset the BIOS.

Help with locating CMOS battery on Sony Vaio laptop

Google cmos battery on your board You will get pictures.
Hopefully it is readily accessible. Some can be a real PIA to get to.
If defaults do not help you see if you can use a hiren 15.2 disk to make changes to your video settings.

This is basically an OS issue. If nothing works yo may just have to wipe the drive and reload it from scratch.

Where is the reset button on the ASRock 775vm800 motherboard?

There is no reset button, if you wish to reset the Bios, you have to take out the battery and re-insert it after few minutes. But if you wish to get the front panel connection, you need to consult the manual. Open the manual by clicking this LINK, scroll down to page no.19 and refer the illustrated diagram given there (System Panel Header 9 Pin Panel_1).
Good Luck.

Hello my compaq v6000 doesnt work. when i hit the power button all lites are on but the screen blank plus the hard drive indicator doesnt flash at all..

Try removing the memory Dimms and see if it shows post screen. If that does not work then try removing the hard drive and cd-rom drive. The computer BIOS should still show video on the computer with these components removed. If still nothing then try resetting the cmos for the Bios by using the jumper pins or removing the watch battery for about 20 seconds then re-install. After that if the computer still does not start then the laptop motherboard is probably bad.

I have a duel core pc system but need to get rid of the bios password to gain access, can anyone help?

Find a diagram of your specific motherboard. Find the jumpers for clearing your bios. There will be a setting that will reset all bios options to default... Make sure you are tampering with the correct jumpers. Playing around with the wrong ones can do serious damage to your motherboard. However, the manufacturers site should have thorough instructions on how to set them. Clear the bios/resetting to defaults should clear any passwords.

How to reset Asus PC-DL Deluxe BIOS

Remove the Lithium Flat Battery from the motherboard, then start the machine. Let it run for about 5-10 seconds and then turn it off and put the battery back in.

Some motherboards when you try to power it up without the battery, will not turn on. Press the power button 2-3 times and then place the battery back in and it should achieve the same results.
