Tappan 36 gas range display says door loc how do i unlock

If you remove the display, you will see a capacitor on the back of the circuit board. That capacitor needs replacing.

Hello kdccampbell2 - Does "LOC" appear in the display if any button is pushed? The Oven Lockout feature automatically locks the oven door, prevents the warmer drawer and most oven controls from being turned ON. Press and hold CLEAR/OFF for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked. Do the maintop burners work? Confirm the shut-off valve on the gas pressure regulator is in the "ON" position. This valve shuts off gas to the oven (typically located on the back left-hand side of the range). I do not suggest re-lighting the unit, as this may cause harm to you and possible damage to the appliance. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and to assist with the repairs.

you can use a coat hanger ( but do not force it ) top center of door is location . tyr it left and right but do not force . the latch may need replacement . mm

sounds like the control panel may be locked, look for an icon that looks like a small padlock, push and hold it until the loc goes away, it says 3 seconds but 5-8 is more realistic. I hope this hepls

We were able to solve the problem by accident. As I think I mentioned the door must of locked when we were cleaning the control panel. Anyway the door locked and the burners would not ignite.The door was open so you were not able to shut it to try and clear it. I searched the owners manual, there were no solutions as to how to reset the Range. I even checked the manufacture's web site. I got down to inspect the door and ran my hand along the inside edge of the oven and there was a button on a spring. I pushed on it and there was a hum and the latch opened and the Range must have reset. It's working perfect now.

F3 code error indicates a bad oven temperature sensor (RTD). To fix this error, Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

I NEED TO REPLACE MY STAINLESS STEEL 5 BURNER WITH GRIDDLE COOKTOP ON MY 36 I TAPPAN RANNGE BUT DONT KNOW WHERE TO FIND ONE. I CANT SEEM TO FIND THE SRIAL NUMBER/MODEL NUMBER ON THE STOVE. HELP! DAN WILLIAMS

To Lock Or Unlock Cooktop
1. Turn all control knobs to OFF.
2. Press and hold the Cooktop Lockout icon keypad for 3 seconds. A single tone will
sound, and “Loc On” and a cooktop icon will appear on the display. After 3 sec-
onds the clock display will reappear.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to unlock cooktop. “Loc OFF” will appear on the display for
3 seconds, and the cooktop icon will disappear from the display.

you need to replace the oven ignitor coil.

open the back and manually spin the motor for the latch arm it may need to be replaced
