My haier 5cu.ft. freezer stop freezing

If the refrigerator is not defrosting, the defrost control board might be defective. The defrost control board monitors several conditions and determines how often to run the defrost cycle. If the board fails, the refrigerator will not go into the defrost cycle. Eventually, ice will build up on the evaporator coil and then the refrigerator and or freezer will not stay cold enough. This will depend on where the evaporator is located. It's prudent to check the defrost heater and defrost thermostat for continuity before replacing the defrost control board.

Check your defrost timer also make sure its turning also there's a thermostat and heating element that defrost the ice at given cycles

Hello, The drain behind the back panel in the freezer is frozen or blocked up. Remove the back panel remove as much ice as possible and pour boiling water in the bottom section under the evaporator. be careful not to touch the aluminum it will cut you or break. you will see the drain hole sometimes it takes a while to thaw all the ice. Defrost the unit totally so you can see no more ice, may take a day or more with door open, once done, restart the unit, check you can hear the fan running in the freezer, if not, replace fan unit, if you can hear it, the defrost timmer may have failed or the defrost element has gone. If the unit appears to work correctly, dont be fooled, the problem will return, if the unit does not work as it should, regas is required. Hope that helps.

This is likely a manual defrost freezer, which means you have to remove the food, unplug the unit, and let the ice melt on its own. Do not, and i repeat, DO NOT poke the ice away from the walls. I guarantee if you poke the ice away from the wall, you'll poke a hole in the wall, and force yourself to buy a new freezer.

SLOWER IS SAFER. put some boiling water, in the pot, inside the freezer, or use a hair dryer.

It could be that your defrost system is faulty. If the freezer does not defrost now and then it will fill up the cooling fins with ice and get warm. The leaking could also be an indication of two much ice. Did you unplug it when it stopped working and then plug it back in?

If the unit is running continuously and not maintaining the temperature cold enough the system may have a leak. If it is NOT running continuously the problem could be in the temperature control.
