No sound I have a 32" flat screen Toshiba tv (32HF73)that is about a year old. About 10 days ago, when I went to replace the dvd player, I lost the sound. I have checked my connections, the mute button, the internal speakers, but no luck. I thought the problem might be in the cable box; but, when I hooked up the new dvd player directly to the tv, I again had no sound (and an in and out picture). Any ideas? With respect to the dvd, should I rout it thru the cable box? (I didn't before.) Also, is a LG DVD recorder DR1F9H compatible with the set--i.e., can the dvd's HDMI play on the tv's dvi?

If the tv does not have sound with out connecting the dvd then you are having a problem in your audio circuit have a tech look at it.if its only when you connect the dvd then you could have connect cables wrong.you cannot route a dvd through a cable box.any dvd s compatible with tv so long as the connections are there. goodluck.

My Toshiba 32AV500U - the picture went blank.

This problem usually happens when the lamp runs out, verify how old is your TV, lamps have a life spend of aprox. 3 years, most likely you would have to replace the bulb so your TV can start running again!!

Two DVD's stuck in Toshiba Regza with built-in DVD player

If you can find a piece of stiff wire, put a small 90 degree bend onto one end and try to hook the edge or middle of the DVD drawer and pull out the drawer. It will resist a bit but should come out.
