The continuous flow system was installed on a canon pixma MP 287(brand new) which was a lemon, and then still hardly not used, being taken out of the MP287 and installed on the also brand new MP280. It displays on the computer that the cartridges which are the same for both machines, are not bonding with the MP280. We are desperate to get this fixed - please advise
For error e 1 4 = better take it out and wipe the smudges
for error e 0 5 = check the ink catridge, when ciss installed most installer make mistake by making the red ink hole at the circle made on it. you must make the hole slightly under it, the small hole. the big round is under the thick plastic lid, so the pipe we put will make the catridge move from the original position. or your cartridge just spoilt.
OMG!!! i tried to solve it by pressing the reset and on button but now it doesn't want to turn on :(

For me, this meant that I put it an ink cartridge that wasn't compatible.

The print heads on this printer are integrated to the cartridges. I would check the inside of the cartridge caddy, and make sure that all of the gold contact pins are exposed, not looking damaged, and that there are no tears on the film it is connected with. If you notice anything shady with that film, you want to do an RMA (Return to Merchant Authorization) so you can get a replacement,
Canon offers a 1 year upgrade warranty with all of its printers, which very few people use or pay attention to. This means that if you did not void this warranty by using remanufactured cartridges or freaked out the chips on genuine ones by refilling past 1200 prints, you will actually get the newest model (currently the Canon MP140)
