JGBP33 BAKE IGNITOR

My GE stove is 4 years old. Last night my the oven would not pre heat. The top burners work and the broiler works. Everything I am reading states the problem is with the bake ignitor. How do you get to the bake ignitor on a GE range. The model number is JGBP33.
Thank you

This sounds easy to replace. Do you normally replace the burner and ignitor or just the ignitor.

    Thanks for your prompt help.

You did not post a complete model number, but this should help:
Take racks out of oven. Remove two screws at the very back of the oven bottom. Lift back side of bottom up and back a bit to remove oven floor. Remove flame spreader (one nut at center). ignitor is at the back left of burner, most likely a WB2X9154 (round style) ignitor. The entire burner can be removed rather easily at this point if you remove the two screws at the front and disconnect the ignitor wire (if you wish to have easier access to ignitor mounting screws.)

    Just the ignitor.

GE Profile Stove baking option not working

Possibly the bake igniter, the temperature sensor or the electronic oven clock/control. Does broil mode heat properly or does it run cool also? If broil heats to the proper temperature then the temperature sensor is probably ok. That leaves the ignitor or the controller which takes some more troubleshooting. If it is the controller, we repair them at www.fixyourboard.com.

Broiler works, oven settings - no flame, no heat.

Hi, it sounds like the oven ignitor might be bad. Remove the floor panel inside the oven and you will see the ignitor attached to the burner assembly. Turn the oven on and see if it glows. You can test the connection for the ignitor and see if it gets 120V to it. The most common problem with the gas oven is the ignitor. Most of the time, the ignitor glows but is not strong enough to open the gas valve.
Please let me know if this was helpfull or if I can assist you further.

Thanks

No Bake; everything else works

Hi, When you put the oven on bake, can you see the ignitor glowing but get no flame?
Sound like the ignitor might be getting weak and not opening the gas valve. Please let me know if this sounds like the problem.
It is common for the ignitor to go bad. Even if it glows, it can be bad.

GE Profile gas range - stove works, oven doesn't heat

Set the oven for bake. Wait a couple minutes and look in the oven. If you see a orange glow the ignitor is working, but, may need to be replaced.
If you see no orange glow the ignitor definitely needs to be replaced.

My broiler works - but the oven does not - GE Dual Fuel range

Thanks for providing the full model number, which allows us to look up part numbers and see exploded views of your product.
Most likely the bake ignitor is bad (even if it still glows, it may not draw enough amperage to allow the gas safety valve to open). One way you can test this on your model is to swap out the broil ignitor for the bake ignitor, as they are the same part number on your model. (part number WB13T10045) The broiler is normally used much less than the oven, so the part does not fail very often on the broiler. You will have to take the cover off the floor of the oven, then the flame spreader, to reach the burner area. The ignitor is the rectangular part at the back, on the side of the burner. (only two wires to deal with) (By the way, for future reference, your model number ends is SS, as in stainless steel, not a 55)
