The power went off at my home while the SE-270D was on. When the power came back on the machine was still in on position. Now when I press the foot control the screen says lower presser foot lever, which I did but each time I try to proceed it gives me the same signal. So I touch OK , then lower presser foot, then the same thing happens. I guess the computer is not recognising that the presser foot lever is down. Please help.
Hi, turn the machine off and reconnect the cables, a power surge may have damaged something. so connect everything again and turn it on, do you still have the problem? if you do something is possibly blown..
Initially, pls try a reset. This could be accomplish by unplugging the SE-270D from the mains. After an extended period, plug back in and power on normally. In some variations, there would be a reset button/key/switch.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

To replace the presser foot lever on an Elna 9000 Computer model sewing machine, follow these steps:
Raise the presser foot by turning the handwheel towards you until the needle is in its highest position.
Release the presser foot lever by pressing the button on the back of the presser foot lever and sliding the lever to the left.
Remove the old presser foot lever by sliding it off the presser bar.
Align the new presser foot lever with the presser bar and slide it into place.
Secure the presser foot lever by pressing the button on the back of the lever and sliding it to the right.
Lower the presser foot by turning the handwheel away from you until the needle is in its lowest position.
Test the presser foot lever to make sure it is functioning properly.
If you are having difficulty replacing the presser foot lever or if the machine is not functioning properly after the replacement, it is recommended that you consult the user manual or contact Elna customer service for assistance.
If the lever for the presser foot on your Kenmore 158.441 sewing machine is locked in the down position, there could be a few different issues causing the problem. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the presser foot: Make sure the presser foot is properly installed and aligned on the machine. If the presser foot is not properly installed or aligned, it can cause the lever to become stuck in the down position.
Check the presser foot lever: Inspect the presser foot lever for any visible damage or looseness. Make sure the lever is not bent or broken and that it is properly aligned and connected to the machine.
Check the threading: Make sure the machine is properly threaded. If the thread is not correctly aligned or tensioned, it can cause the presser foot lever to become stuck in the down position.
Check for any other visible issues: Inspect the machine and its components for any visible issues that may be causing the presser foot lever to become stuck in the down position. This can include debris or foreign objects that may have gotten stuck in the machine, or damage to the machine or its components.
If you have tried these troubleshooting steps and the problem persists, it may be necessary to have the machine serviced by a professional. A technician will be able to diagnose the problem and determine the necessary repairs.
Lets start with this. Make sure your presser foot is up and the needle bar is in the up position aswell. Also make sure that the thread spool is the right size for the caset.

If you are lifting the presser foot and it sorta holds then drops down.....its probably worn and needs replacing. If the machine is well used thats usually the culprit. There is a lob on the presser foot lever that wears and causes it to not stay up. No easy solution other than changing the part.....best left to a pro.
try turning it off & then back on
I've encountered the problem with my electronic sewng machine
it jams up & I turn it off & then turn it back on, that usually clear the circuit board
if it keeps doing it, I would suggest taking it to be serviced
Make sure you're using the correct foot for the stitch. Is this during sewing or embroidery? Take off the bobbin plate using the screwdriver and remove the bobbin. Make sure everything is clean under and around the shuttle. If you've ever broken a needle the tip might have fallen down into the mechanism and occasionally be jamming it.
Unfortunately, I had to send my machine to a registered Brother repair shop. It was still under warranty but cost $25 to ship. If yours is brand new, I would suggest taking it back for a new one. I went without mine for a month and a half while it was being repaired. Hope it works out for you!
If your machine bunch up the tread, it has nothing to do with timing. In 90% of the cases the problem lies with the top thread. Check your tension disks for any fluff or thread. Also check that you thread the machine correctly. The best way to check the tension is to thread the machine normally with the presser foot up. when you get to the stage of the threading the needle, first lower the presser the presser foot and check the tension by pulling the thread slowly with your right hand and adjust the tension with your left hand. On zero you should be able to pull freely and on 5 there should be enough resistance. If this is the case your machine should sew perfectly.
Hope this help
This happened to me and I eventually realized that there is a small door flap at the top near the "4" in the threading series that can get stuck open. Normally this flap goes up and down with the presser foot, but if it gets stuck open even when the presser foot is down, tapping it or closing it manually will make the error go away.
