I have a pair of 1998 impulse 200 speakers. I Lent them out, now one of the horns (22X) does not work (seems as though the sound coming through it is still there, but greatly attenuated like maybe 50 db. So I popped the back off the quiet horn and looked at the diaphragm. It looks fine, & reads about 1 ohm on the multimeter. I don't think it is the problem. The light bulb is OK and also reads about 1 Ohm. I'm kind of thinking I may have a dead capacitor. Oh yeah the Horn makes a nice scratchy noise when I place an AA cell across it's terminals, but not when I place the same cell across the input to the crossover (when the X over / speaker leads are correctly re-connected. I don't have a tone generator any Ideas??
I have the same problem on my sp4the diaphragm are replaced i get signal but very scratchy what could be going on does it make a difference if i accidentally crossed the positive and negative wires ?
Across the diaphram you should be reading about 8 ohms. it sounds to me like it's blown. However,if you think it'ds thre crossove, take it out and send it to Peavey. They do good , fastwork.............................................................

Here's some links to manuals for you:http://beallcenter.uci.edu/facility/docs/EON15.pdf andhttp://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/EON-G2%20Series/EON15G2.pdf Hope they give you some info. Second hand prices are always nice but it's buyer beware. I don't have the amplifier schematic but what you are hearing might be some kind of protection circuit for the high frequency driver.

Here is the link to the best people to ask:http://www.peavey.com/support/ Hope this helps.
SOURCE: I have a Peavey PV 115 Speaker...The horn works
Check the resistance across the woofer connection points. Using an ohmmeter, you should se around 6 to 8 ohms. If there is no continuity, you have a blown speaker.
SOURCE: I need to find SOME kind of adequate replacement
That is a very wide range cone type (oval) type tweeter that probably covers from around 2500 Hz up to 20KHz. You will probably NOT be satisfied with generic speaker... this one is special for sure. Try calling http://www.speakerrepair.com/ocsdiaphragms.html and see if you can get it reconed. Most speakers that are cheap will NOT take the power that the amp will deliver.
