I had the same problem on 27th December 2007, orange light flashing. I telephoned the Warrranty company who informed me to switch it off for 10 to 15 minutes and the light should go out.
I did this and it worked however temperature with mine is fluctuating as I have bought a thermometer and am currently waiting for an Engineer to call (he's due on the 7th January). Hope this solution is useful, it may solve your problem.

The orange flashing light means your fridge freezer needs servicing. Mines been flashing for a few months now - but fortunatley everything has been working ok given the flashing light. You will need to contact either someone from Candy or a qualified electrician to sort it. Polly200

If you have the owners manual it should say what that means but I'll see if I can find an operation manual or tech manual online and get back to you.

My Candy fridge freezer CPC240FFK seems to turn itself off - light goes out and no sound. If I turn it up to Super it does work, but the fridge is too cold, and when I turn it down it goes off again. Now...

i recently found out that there is a component in a fidge called a control board this basically tells the fridge what to do i recently had a variety of problems with my candy F/F starting with the interior light not working it turned out to be the CB had this replaced and now working fine i have been told a CB (control board) can pack up from somethng as simple as a light bub blowing so possibly might be your solution all the best

Candy CFC 290 FF

Candy frost free freezers have a 'self defrost' mechanism to remove excess ice build up. What happens is the ice gets packed around the heat exchanger in the back of the freezer and it can't self defrost. This is easy to fix but will require the fridge to be left switched off with the door open for a couple of days so all the ice can melt. Make sure you left the appliance off for as long as you can as if there is any ice left the problem will just come back.

Fridge Feezes

My Candy fridge freezer done the same. After a bit of investigation, I found that the little plastic shaft from the front temperature dial that connects to the thermostat has snapped. I merely glued it back together and it worked fine.

In essence, the thermostat was turned on to super all the time, and turning the dial anti-clockwise did nothing as it wasn't connected to the thermostat.

Very flimsy I say.
